[QUOTE="Kahuna_1"]

[QUOTE="Salt_The_Fries"] Good reality check.xsubtownerx

DVDs are a joke in terms of pricing. The single disc is $15, the 2 disc is $23, and the Blu-ray is $24...the Blu-ray is the best deal out of them.

15$ > 24$ I don't understand your logic.

because you're not very bright. he is clearly comparing the BD to the 2 disc dvd, and the BD has all the same features plus more and way better picture and sound quality. for a dollar more you get a much better product. its clearly the best deal.

Blu-Ray should be cheaper. If they were the same price as DVD's, sales would rocket even more. CleanPlayer
they really aren't much more expensive, check here: http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_constraint=4096&ic=48_0&search_query=the+dark+knight&Find.x=0&Find.y=0&Find=Find it has nothing to do with price, just not nearly as many people own blu-rays. believe me, everyone who owns a blu-ray player and wanted to buy the dark knight, bought it on blu-ray man.

Paying $15 for just the movie is a joke. And the 2 disc specials are the biggest ripoffs. DVDs are overpriced.

because we all know that all people that purchase blu ray watch the extras over and over and over right and infact purchase the bluray for the extras right? the same with the special edition 2 disc dvd buyers they purchase it cause of the extras right and watch them over and over? Most people dont even touch the extras let alone know they have them they purchase the movie they do not care about the making of...ect AS for that your information is wrong most places do not run the blu ray version at 24 dollars but infact higher you have to search for that deal the same for the DVD but i can get it at wal-mart usually the 2 disc special for 19.99.

uh. dude nice try at trying to be all smart but you fail completely. actually people DO like extra features, if they didn't they wouldn't bother with them so much and go to great lengths to make them good. and special features on BD are especially cool, like getting to chat with the director later this week. and the 2 disc dvd is actually listed as 35, but you can get in store at wall mart for 23-24 and online at 20 but the BD is still the same and has more features and FAR SUPERIOR picture and sound quality, especially the scenes filmed in imax, theyre incredibly high def.

You only put H3 Recon up there to get to lemmings. It's an expansion. You might as well put GTA4 DLC up there. Killzone 2 is a prime candidate to flop. LBP is performing poorly saleswise and so is the PS3. This past NPD day, SOCOM flopped hard. Resistance 2 sold less than 400K. Heavy hitters for the PS3rd have sucked and Dec NPD numbers will look worse. KZ2 will suffer.pakman3000
socom flopped hard? that game actually sold very well for being online only, and if any of the critics (other than 1up.com) were to re-review it now, or even after the 1.3 patch, they would change there scores for sure. it only launched with technical issues, no different than how gears 2 online took forever or didn't even join matches. you're just a straight up fanboy dude, thats why you got all pissy about him mentioning halo 3 recon

killinzone2? what is that, you're poor attempt at a joke? lol bad call. Anyways, Killzone 2 will not flop thats guaranteed, I'm talking both sales and critics, the preview code all the critics recently got was and the very good beta was more than enough assurance this game will deliver. And Halo: Recon shouldn't even be listed. Its just an expansion and its only like 5 hours long right? I can't see why Heavy Rain is listed because I don't think anyone is expecting that game to sell like crazy, but i'm sure it will do fairly well with reviews. Bioshock 2 won't disappoint thats for damn sure. i'm going with Resident Evil 5 i seriously think that game might not live up to its expectations. But I'm sure it will though. Its just you didn't give us a very good list.

And people wonder why developers are going multiplat. Its a blu-ray player that happens to be able to play games. Do people ever wonder why the PS3 was the only blu-ray player that was upgradeable and had the best picture of all the stand alone players? So people would buy the PS3 to watch movies on.T-Aldous
and this is getting really old, come on, this was what 360 fanboys were saying 2 years ago, time to move on now. the ps3 has more than enough triple AAA games for you to realize its a game machine that happens to have a blu-ray player.

Great for movie lovers, gamers not so much.

Also where's the sales chart for DVDs? I believe they're still selling very well.

one_on_one
well uh, most gamers are movie lovers im sure. i know i am. and nobody said this was a DVD vs BD sales thread, the TC was just pointing out how well BD's are selling. Of course DVDs still sell way more, everyone owns a DVD player. But the truth is the BD cost like $24, and the DVD special edition cost $23 The BD comes with all the same extra features (plus more) and is in HD, and boy, when I say HD, you have got to see this movie on HD man, the scenes filmed in IMAX are STUNNING

To all the people who said BluRay wont make it because of downloading movies is the new and easy way.
Blu Ray is doomed like the ps3~ Yes you people know who you are :P

According to the Greenfield data, the top five Blu-ray movies on consumer's holiday wish lists are: The Dark Knight, Mamma Mia! The Movie, Wall-E, The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and Hancock. The previous one-day Blu-ray disc sales record set by Iron Man, which sold 260,000 copies on its release day, was just recently smashed by the first day sales of The Dark Knight Blu-ray, which sold 600,000 units.

Not saying thats its ps3 sales but showes that Blu-ray players andBR discsare selling so soon people will realize to just end up getting a ps3.

i hope :D

Just so you know, blu-ray discs are called BD's for short, not BR discs. Hence the logo:
