Cancelled my preorder since playing the demo. I have no love for the FFXIII world/characters and although I'll buy it eventually I kinda hope it bombs at retail so squeenix stop pumping out garbage.
Nintendo's first party titles havn't changed since the 64's release. Mario is criminally similar with every new game and don't get me started on zelda games which seem to be stuck in the 90's, i also guarantee the majority of players will want to stick with the classic controller for skyward sword. And how about forza, gears and halo, 3 main entries in each series so far into the 360's lifespan i think its safe to assume we will see at least one more game in each series before the 720 releases. Forza 3 and 4 could have easily been dlc/patches for forza 2 and gears 2's campaign could have been combined with gears 1 to make an actual substantial satisfactory campaing, So it ain't just ps3 and you can defend your console/franchise all you like its the same across the board when it comes to sucessful games being similar to their sequels.
So far my experience with the BF3 beta has been seriously underwhelming. It is by no means the graphical revolution it seemed to be and the browser based multiplayer componant breaks the game for me. Ok so my £1250 gaming rig with my £430 gpu setup manages an incostant framerate anywhere between 50-100fps at ulta settings which is reasonable. Although there is tearing and graphical glitches galore with vhs type black and white static tearing ofter appearing which atm is game breaking. Hopefully that is down to it being a beta with no concrete drivers yet of which i have updated twice since downloading the beta. So i'm hearing that this build is missing a lot of dx11 features which i hope is the case beacuase id go as far as saying crysis 2 is graphically superior and the witcher 2 blows it out of the water. however if that is the case i worry about the potential framerate £430's worth of gpu is going to get me in the games retail fully function dx11 game release. For £430 i could buy all 3 current gen consoles and have some left over and to anydoby else i would recomend spending there money on a ps3 with bf3 and all the ps3's immense exclusives. In my recent experience the deffinative shooter experience is shifting towards consoles and although the pc has a minor graphical improvement over consoles it doesnt offer much else over its competitors. Since i cant condone paying an online subscription to play the multiplayer componant of my purchased games and the PC experience is likely to be inconsitant and unpredictable performance wise, i guess the ps3 is going to get the nod for bf3 ahead of my brand spankin gaming beast and dust collecting 360. A rant i know i'm just pissed off with the beta since i was looking forward to putting my pc through the bf3 paces.
Your current rig will play any game at the same level as consoles. If its exclusives your after go for the ps3 since most 360 exlusives are available on pc. However for raw performance go with the pc which also has some top notch exclusives.
Can't see why anyone in there right mind would build a PC to a console specification. If you want console level performance buy a ps3 surely for half the price of an equally capable PC.
Yo GS users, im in the process of putting together a gaming rig and so far all my components have arrived besides the gpu since the model i originally ordered was OOS. So far my rig consists of the following:
Corsair Enthusiast TX V2 CMPSU-850TXV2UK 850W Power Supply (PSU)
The gpu i originally planned on was a £200 ASUS 6950 2GB which i intended to unlock to a 6970 via the bios switch however this model is OOS and im finding it hard to find a site stocked with 6950 reference boards besides the XFX Model. Should i go for the £200 XFX 6950 2GB or a £240 sapphire 6970 or a £190 GTX570ti or something else entirely. Also by the end of the year i plan to add a second gpu of whichever i choose to run in either sli or crossfire. Help would be much appreciated as all the different options is pissin me off. So far ive searched scan, dabs, ebuyer and yoyotech for UK delivery, any websites with good offers on gpus would be great also. Thanks in advance.
I own a 360/ps3 and truely despise the wii. It is a GC with gimmicky poor controls. I seriosuly cannot belive the ammount of ppl who have purchased a wii. I personally dont like any of nintendos first party titles, mario for me has always been poor, metroid is a joke compared to the likes of Halo-Cod-Bioshock-Orange Box to name a few, Zelda is poor and all the mario spinoffs are seriously gay Nintendo rehash there first party titles wiv every generation and they are always pretty much the same game every year or 2 its pathetic. And i cant be doing wiv all these party games and educational crap they keep spewing out as well as all the lame ps2 ports they insist on providing. The VC is totally pointless anyone who pays for these ought to be shot as emulation on the pc is far better. To sum up the wii is junk end of story anyone who wants a proper gaming experience shud look no further than a 360 or ps3 end of story.
