Hey. I finally have a day where I don't have any plans at all. I have all night to do nothing, and I really want to play a game - But I can't come up with anything. What I'm thinking is, I wanna play a game that: - I can get pretty fast (not newest releases - Prefer downloadable) - Is a lot of fun, and sucks you in - Can be old, can be new. My only restriction is - not too big (lol). Otherwise, is will take all night to download. Previous games I've played when I had a night like this was Limbo, Fallout 1&2, Legend og Grimrock. Thank you.

Can you recommend me a game that really sucked you in?
I mean... You know, when youre at home, has a weekend with nothing to do, and wanna game - but you have no idea what to game?
Last time that happened, I bought Legend of Grimrock and gamed it for hours and hours. Anything is cool, RPG, action, indie, whatever - As long as the game is on PC, really REALLY sucked you in, and is extremely fun to play. Wow, that was a broad category.

Hi.

I recently got a new PC, so i´m now able to play a lot of new games that my old PC couldn´t handle.

I would like for you to recommend games that really sucked you in, and you couldn´t stop playing. My PC can run almost everything, except Crysis+ games.

I like most genres - surprise me. Both new and old classics would be appreciated :)

Games I´ve already played, and I guess you might recommend since they are great:

Kotor
Fallout 1-2-3
Diablo 1-2-3
Oblivion
Skyrim
Legend of Grimrock

Btw, I´ve got a PS3, so if the game you recommend is also available on that platform, i´ve probably already tried it :)

Thanks.

Just repair it yourself. I did that. Clean the blu-ray linse with some cloth and regular, but strong soap, extremely gently. fix'd!

Naughty Dog or Insomniac?

Spyro vs Crash Bandicoot?
Ratchet & Clank vs Jak and Daxter?
Resistance vs Uncharted?

Personally i prefer ND all-around. Better characters, better humor, better gameplay, pushing the hardware to the limit, etc etc.
Jak and Daxter are also one of my favourite series (Although I like Ratchet and Clank a lot aswell)

What bad things do you think about this generation of games? I've got a few:

Short games.
Regenerating health and the "can only carry two guns at a time" (Didn't Halo make this up?)
DLC.

Ronin893

Go back and play some from back in the day. You could finish a game in 10mins. The only thing I see is this generation of gamers have it too sweet. They can't comprehend what older generations had to play growing up. You can really appreciate games made today.

Well, I was mostly comparing this generation to last generation... I see I didn't make this clear :b

I remember many years ago, when games were only arcade games, and didn't have a storyline or any progress at all besides the score in the corner, i.e Tetris, pong, pac-man, etc etc.

What videogame websites do you think makes bad reviews, but are enjoyable?

I personately LOVE the Gametrailers video reviews. I like the voice of the guy talking, and he's pretty good at delivering information about the game. I like how they show gameplay and examples when the guy speaks, and the whole review with gameplay, presentation, story, etc etc.
ALTHOUGH I enjoy them, I think their scores are extremely inaccurate, and sometimes they don't really know what they are talking about. But I enjoy them anyways.

I think there are four possibilities:

1: MGS4 for the 360. Considering ALL the previous MGS games have beeen ported, (MGS: twin snakes, substance and subsistance) I wouldn't be surprised to see MGS4 for the 360. The only thing that hold me back is the fact that the 360 and PS3 uses different platforms in terms of discs, (DVD - bluray), which they didn't when the earlier games were ported to xbox and gamecube.

2: MGS5 for PS3 AND 360. Considering this is most likely a game featuring Raiden, this will pretty much be a stand-alone title, kinda like MGS3, which was also ported. So not much backstory is needed to just jump in and play, there fore, 360 gamers could play it without reading tons of backstory from the previous games.

3: ZOE3 exclusive for PS3. Although I've never played ZOE1 or ZOE2, I it seems interesting, and a nice jump away from the MGS series.

4: New IP. We've seen the teaser, and it doesn't look like either MGS or ZOE. The fact that TONS AND TONS of people wants MGS5, MGS4 for 360, and ZOE3, makes me think Kojima won't do a new IP... But he has surprised us before, right?

On the other hand, they gave Assassins Creed 9.0... And Infamous has got the platforming better, combat better, and upgradeable powers. And lots of them. Oh, and the karma system.

Assassins Creed's story was also nothing special, so if that game can get 9.0... Oh well, I forgot we're talking about Gamespot.

Infamous will get 8.5. Or 8.0 because of texture-popin and the fact that lightning is clichéd, BECAUSE IT EXISTS. Or 7.5 due to the fact that it does not have multiplayer... Oh, and it's ps3 exclusive.

inFAMOUS score: 7.0

haze_blaze

Lol, no... I highly doubt they'll score it below an 8.5... either way, I think it's already proven that it's a great game. I think the interesting question for a lot of people now will be how Prototype scores in comparison...

Yeah, I'd like to see the Prototype reviews as well... Ever since it was announced, I thought it looked pretty boring, repetitive and generic, but in the last couple of weeks, it caught my attention... Well, I don't know if I want it or not.
