I don't think the WII is really meant for FPS games but i would like to see a solid wii only title and not just a basic port.GumbieuK

Actually, Wii is perfect for FPS games. With other systems your aiming speed is limited by the analogue stick, but with Wii the gun follows your hands movements... so obviously you'll be able to be quicker and really make good use of your reaction skills. Who knows, maybe they'll start making games like Virtua Cop and Lethal Enforcers again.

If you really want to do this I suggest you focus your efforts on baseball and boxing. The dodging exercise can really get you going, so try that one too. But so far I haven't seen much that can give really good results, so a gym is the best thing for you.

It would be awesome if they developed more games like Wii Sports in the future. They would have to come up with some really physically demanding moves though, and probably do microgames like WarioWare to keep the moves from getting repetive. Here's a few ideas I got while writing this:

- Rowing a boat by holding the remote sideways and pushing it back and forth (lol, now that I think about it you'll probably look a little dirty while doing this).
- Turning a lever in different directions by doing a rotating motion. As the microgame progresses it goes faster and starts switching between clockwise and counter-clockwise motion.
- Race against the AI or a friend to see who reaches the top of the latter first, you climb by repeatedly moving your hands up and down (using both remote and nunchuk). You can knock your opponent down a bit by quickly moving your hand sideways (depending on which side of the ladder you are), but this will require good timing and strength.

If they ever do a Wii Sports sequel then yes, online play would be fun I guess. But I think what they were going for was playing together in the room rather than doing it online. Though it might be something good for the lonely ones :)

I liked the spherical levels in Ratchet & Clank 2 + 3, so I think I'll dig Super Mario Galaxy as well :)

Hehe, I somehow missed a howling stone in Lake Hylia that I thought I had already done. So that's where I discovered the final hidden skill :P

I've only bought 2 VC games so far, Super Mario 64 and Super Probotector (excellent game if you want something you can just play through in 30 minutes). I'm still waiting for the really good ones to come.

It gives people something to do while they wait for these "good ones." Nintendo has been releasing games that seemingly flew under the radar; if they released Ocarina of Time, Mario RPG, etc. right off the bat, what reason would someone have to buy the more unknown games that they've been releasing? Just a hunch.Superlink517

Well that I can understand. But I think the regional locking is inexcusable, everyone should be able to enjoy the games, regardless of what regions they were released in originally. I know there's always emulators on PC, but the purist in me is really aching for these games to get the recognition they deserve but never got.

Have a look at the two Zelda titles they released for CD-I and I'm sure you'll change your mind about this whole thing.

When I first read about Virtual Console I thought "This is great! Now people can play all the games they never got to play, like some really rare ones, or ones that didn't make it to their country!".

Well, seems that's not what Nintendo had in mind. They're pretty much following the original release plans for all of these titles so far. New Zealand didn't get anything from Turbografx-16, and purists seeking games in their original versions have to deal with localizations (I really wanted Contra III with the humans, but I had to settle for their robot counterparts in Super Probotector), some games won't make it to some countries because they weren't released there in the first place... despite the fact that VC games are relatively cheap to produce.

This strategy just doesn't make any sense. It can't be that hard to recreate these games, so why aren't Nintendo just giving people what they want? Just because some games weren't released in our country about a decade ago, that doesn't mean we don't want to play them. Things have changed and most of those games are in much greater demand these days. Stop shutting people out like this :(

Sounds like someone is jumping to conclusions here. The Wii will be what you make it, there's nothing indicating that this is somehow a kiddy system. Just because Nintendo likes to release family-friendly games that shouldn't be some unwritten rule that developers need to follow. Hopefully Metroid Prime 3 will show people that Wii is more than just cute graphics and party games.
