[QUOTE="Zero_epyon"] Right and then I won't be able to join any MP games after that. Or benefit from the features they may include in the new version. So in either case I'm losing something from a product I paid for.Zero_epyon

PSN is a service that has a TOU that MUST be adhered to if you wish to use it , same as LIVE. Sony isn't forcing you to hit "i agree".

I paid for a system that came with features (like Linux Support) and PSN. No in order to keep Linux I have to stop using PSN. If I want to keep using PSN i have to drop Linux. So yes I'm being forced to choose here and in any instance I lose.

If you can point out to a court where you "paid" for unlimited use of a terms free PSN, then I'm sure you'll win your case.

[QUOTE="Zero_epyon"] If this is true I demand compensation. It's one of the reasons I bought one. I can't see why they can't fix the hypervisor problem instead. What else could the be so busy on they can't take the time to write a fix? Cross game chat for PSN? Come on Sony get you're priorities straight!Zero_epyon

It's your choice whether or not you want to upgrade so i don't see how you could "demand compensation". If you chose to update then you can bet Sony has something in there stating that it will be removed, and you're the one that hits the "I agree" button so........

[QUOTE="delta3074"][QUOTE="RedruM_I"]I really really hope someone sues Sony for this. This shouldn't be legal in any way, shape or form.Zero_epyon
to be honest i don't think it is legal, but then i didn't think it was legal for MS to mess around with the 360's hardware the way they did and i was wrong about that, but if you could comvince the courts that the ability to run linux was one of the major reasons you bought the console, then maybe the courts would award in your favour

The PS3 looks to be the one with the most horse power of the two but the difference isn't that big imo

I want a Pokemon game where you can explore and see Pokemon walking around in real time. Do away with the random battles. That to me would be the ultimate Pokemon game imo

The 360 would be a steal at that price. I'd probably buy a second one just for the sake of it, but i doubt it's true. There is still a few years left in this gen according to MS and Sony, and if MS were to drop the arcade to $99 it would limit any future price drops (what else could they drop it to after that $50? Would if even be possible to produce a 360 at that price?) I can see the arcade hitting $149.99 this year but $99 just seems too good to be true. imo

[QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]please do tell me what has Microsoft removed from the 360 that was original built into the system?WilliamRLBaker

I shouldn't have said removed, but they don't allow you to do things that should be available on it. Basically most useful 3rd party accessories. At least Sony is doing this for security reasons.

3rd party accessories? headsets? no those still work, Controllers? no those still work...the only 3rd party unofficially licensed things they've disabled as 3rd party memory products which...can be used to hack the system.

".the only 3rd party unofficially licensed things they've disabled as 3rd party memory products which...can be used to hack the system" That's why the "other os" feature is being removed.

[QUOTE="RogueShodown"][QUOTE="WilliamRLBaker"]

That is the consistant way with sony ps1, ps2 they removed features, ps3? removed features over time. Now its software features IF BC was a way to hack the system they'd go back and disable BC in older units too.

they have a problem and instead of fixing it they are removing all abbilities to use a thing to keep the system from being hacked. This is infact quite telling of the claims of the one iphone hackers ps3 hack claims...the linux abbilities were his key to getting past it, If sony is so freaked and is removing all linux abillities then it means his claims are quite correct and Sony is very very Scared.

WilliamRLBaker

What's funny is how you don't bash Microsoft for removing things from Xbox360s; both out of greed and fear that people will mod them.

Please do tell me what stuff has microsoft removed from the 360 that was originally there hardware, or software?

To be fair, MS didn't exactly give us a whole lot of extras like the "other os"option on the PS3 to begin with, hell we're only being allowed to use our USBs for things like our save files now. But if the 360 had such an option and if MS thought it was a security risk, you can bet they'd remove it. No company wants to see their console become riddled with piracy and the removal of the above feature only affects a seriously small amount of people. ( my guess would be less than 3%)

Why would they do such a stupid thing?

Orchid87
The guy who hacked the iphone found some exploit that let him look at some lv1 files (what ever the hell they are) So Sony wants to remove it in case this exploit ends up going any further. Can't say i blame Sony either especially after what happened with the PSP.,

Will believe it when I see itfor myself. I mean, no cars in this game, only horses. How can it be bigger than San Andreas and still function?...Hope it doesn't include some sort of lame fast-travel option to compensate.

Kan0nF0dder
They'll probably use the train for fast travel. Either way they are going to have to include some sort of fast travel option because if the map really is as big as TC says, then traveling from one end of the map to the other using a horse is going to become mighty tedious after a while.
