That's only one way the DSS can be connected. Ideally you just hook it up right to the console to get the optical signal.

If you do not connect your XLC to the television, you will not be able to hear the game chat even if you just plug in the controller cable. If you have a headphone jack on your television, I would recommend connecting it that way. Either way, if you lost the cables for your XLC, you can get parts here (just click parts and accessories):

Here is a reference guide for setting up HDMI with your Turtle Beach:

Yes, it does work actually. You either need the Turtle Beach "chat adapter cable" or their PBT Bluetooth communicator. If your PC is Bluetooth-enabled, then the PBT would be a completely wireless solution.

Just disconnect the audio cables from the TV and use them with the headset only. In fact, you don't have to connect audio to the TV at all!

Technically you don't have to take up 2 USB ports if you use a USB mic adapter. Turtle Beach has a USB-to-AC power adapter that lets you plug the headset USB into a wall outlet. Just another option I guess.

Nope, definitely no way to do that. Why would you want to though? Tritton's quality is nowhere near as good as Turtle Beach. You can just get a Turtle Beach X41 or an X31 with a DSS surround sound dongle. Much better options than Tritton.

My brother got the DSS a couple weeks ago for his b-day to use with his X31 and he absolutely loves it. I tried out his X31 + DSS combo and it sounds nearly identical to my X41 that I paid $199 for! If you have the X11, then the DSS will make it sound SO MUCH better in adding the Dolby positioning--just like the X41. Go for it! PS: My parents ordered the DSS on this site since they had real good pricing: http://www.provantage.com/voyetra-turtle-beach-systems-tbs-2100~7VOYE03L.htm

I actually own a Tritton AXpro and can tell you that it is NOT the best headset available. I have to admit that I completely fell for all the hype around the AXpro when it was first announced. Well, here we are a year or so later and I have barely used it at all. When I first got the AXpro I thought there was something wrong with it because the bass kept distorting even when I turned down the "subwoofer" adjustment. Eventually I realized that the sound quality is just poor simply because Tritton used small speakers due to the tiny space that they crammed four speakers into. Not only that, but they must be the cheapest speakers available too. So basically, sound quality is well below average. As for the surround sound, that is very limited when compared to what else is on the market. Using multiple speakers to create surround sound is a 1990's technology. In other words, it's very outdated. Pretty much every single headset these days is using Dolby Headphone. This is the much much newer technology that recreates the way that the human brain interprets sound 360 degrees around your head. (You only have a single ear on each side of your head, so you only need a single speaker in each earcup on a headset). To explain the main advantage of Dolby Headphone very simply, it has depth perception as well as 360-degree sound positioning. With a headset that uses multiple speakers like the AXpro, you can hear 360-degrees around your head, but you can not hear how far away the sound is. With Dolby Headphone, you can. One factor that you also have to consider is overall comfort. The AXpro is VERY heavy, so you will know you're wearing a headset when it's on your head. Plus, because the earcups are not oversized, they sit on top of your ears and can create pressure which gets very uncomfortable after some time. So basically, you can't wear the AXpro for a long period of time. Anyhow, as you can tell, coming from an AXpro owner, I would strongly recommend that you DO NOT get this headset. If you're serious about getting something that workds on a PS3 and Xbox AND sounds good and is comfortable, then check out the Turtle Beach PX21: http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/ps3-gaming-headsets/ear-force-px21.aspx http://www.provantage.com/voyetra-turtle-beach-systems-tbs-2130~7VOYE032.htm If you want surround sound, then get the DSS surround sound processor: http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/audio-processors/ear-force-dss.aspx http://www.provantage.com/voyetra-turtle-beach-systems-tbs-2100~7VOYE03L.htm Another option is the Astro MixAmp with Turtle Beach HPX headset--but this will cost you a lot more and won't have nearly as many features as the PX21/DSS combo. The PX21/DSS is basically the same exact thing as the AX720, but the AX720 doesn't have any features either. As such, the Turtle Beach option is a much better choice. Hope this helps.

I bought a pair of nice PC headphones and just bought an adapter so I can use them with my xbox. If play on PC, too, it's a much cheaper alternative to owning two headphones:

Uh, this post actually makes no sense whatsoever. First off, the X11 is PC compatible. I know because I use it every day on my PC and my brother uses it on his Xbox. Plus, it says so right on Turtle Beach's website. Secondly, that cable you posted up will only give you chat voices from other players. You can not get game sounds by plugging in an adapter cable to the Xbox controller. The jack on the controller is only for chat. So basically what's the point of hearing chat in two ears while wearing a headset that covers your ears and prevents you from hearing the sound from the TV?

[QUOTE="Macrinus88"]I really need a new microphone, the cheap xbox Microsoft mics keep breaking though I did find some high end mics (not like turtle beach though) on tigerdirect.ca for a cheap price. I still wanna purchase a turtle beach head phone though, and the X11 seems like the best choice because of the affordable price and its not wireless so no charging or annoying batteries. I have some issues with it though, would playing with the headphones make it more difficult to hear people talking? Since the gameplay and voice chat is all in 2 speakers. Another thing Im wondering is do the headphones allow you to turn the game volume down to 0 and the voice chat volume up? It looks like they have 2 volume controls on the headphones so Im assuming they do, but I could be wrong. http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/turtle-beach-turtle-beach-ear-force-headset-x11-8053869/10146387.aspx?path=fcb4c1529f5565f005b0deaef813d00den02 Just copy and paste the link. Would really like some opinions on this, I will really appreciate it.

If you take into account that an Xbox mic costs about $20 and you will go through 2-3 of them a year, it makes a LOT more sense to get a high quality headset like the X11 that is much more durable and will last longer. I actually have an X11 and an X41--and they are both incredible headsets. I have gotten so much better at MW2 just because I have Turtle Beaches. You can literally hear EVERYTHING around you. My parents have a pretty expensive surround sound speaker system, but I use the X41 all the time because it helps out more. Kinda hard to explain, but I think it's because the sound is so close to your ears when you're wearing a Turtle Beach. With speakers, you have to crank up the volume REAL loud to hear anywhere close to as much as you can with a headset. So I say hell yea--go for it. The X11 will save you money over the long haul compared to crappy Xbox mics. And you'll actually get better too.
