it could be fun if your character moved according to your narative, you could tell a story as you played i.e as i WALKed FORWARD down the street I saw an enemy with a huge gun aimed right at me, I DIVED to my RIGHT and KNEELing DOWN behind a bin I AIMED at my TARGET and began SHOOTING, After i saw him die I STOPped SHOOTING and carried on WALKing FORWARD lame example but im sure it could work to a certain degree, maybe in a 2D scroller
or maybe a game that worked off continuous commands, i.e up,up,up,up,up,left,left,left,duck,aim at head,shoot,shoot,shoot,stand,up,up,up,up,up, lol

I think this is a bit further off than VR but still, very cool stuff, A shooting game where your walking down your own street and 'Virtual monsters' jump from behind real bins or around real corners could be cool, you could virtually turn your street/town center into a war zone, with bombers flying overhead, explosions going off all around you, enemies every where, ya would be shooting like mad... but every building would be real, now that is the ****
ya would look a bit silly to others though as you dive out of the way of virtual bullets lol
yeah I made a summary :( the resolution is a pain but with 1280X1024 already out its bound to improve Im going to forget about all the other links bar 1, you'll be very impressed by the real time motion capture going on in the next link, as for augmented reality, yeah that is cool imagine playing Virtual fighter and watching your and your friends character fighting on the table in front of you, AWSOME and a full on VR OS would be cool, you could be in a shopping mall and walk into different doors that load up whatever software you wanted, or shoot different targets that load up what ever software you wanted, the possibilities are endless. ok heres the link, Imagine this in BF2, only 1 word for it WOOHOO, again the possibilities with this are endless, you could go around virtual malls, or virtual pubs just to meet others, or... well anything http://youtube.com/watch?v=6IOsw7DAQG0
