Guys did you know that the Mongol Empire wasnt that ruthless?
When they conquered countries they usually allowed a country's religion. After the splintering of Genghis Khan's empire, many Khaganates became more and more open. Some Khaganates even had Christianity as an official religion (they were the sect Nestorian Christians specifically).
@bluefox755: Gamespot never cared about the pricing model and they have probably never factored it in their reviews (to my knowledge). Evidence is most indie games that have time spans of 2 hours or even less and yet they get stellar reviews.
IMO the pricing model should be mentioned in a review especially if its expensive but it shouldnt always count towards a review because prices change.
@Blackened_Halo: Dont let it bother you. Gamespot always values sequels/games from the main franchise that shake up the rules. You shouldnt rely on only one review anyway. Check many sites and compare reviews (take extra note on what they are writing, not the score).
The important thing that you should take is that they rated this game highly and essentially they said this is a refreshing yet awesome Fire Emblem approach.
@DN3D1997: Nearly all the core team of ME writers (except for C.Hudson) left after ME2 or were pulled to other projects. Sadly the core team never completed the ME ending, which is why C. Hudson had difficulties with it.
I would say though that the problem begun when EA got control of Bioware (all of their major franchises have multiplayer now and their games became less and less RPG and more action)
Also the problem escalated when Bioware begun focusing more on the romances than the plot.
IMO the direction they have gone with Andromeda is the right one. With their main writers gone, focusing on exploration is the best course. Although as you said the teenage direction is wonky at best.
@nyran125tk: Yes i know. That said, BF 1942 takes its vehicles directly from real life. Halo vehicles were original creations, and they helped in fleshing the franchise a bit more.
