The comments on this article are depressing. The objectification of women in all forms of media is influencing young men's attitudes in a negative way, gaming is a small part of that but any positive movement is good. Calling this 'censorship' isn't really helpful in what it implies, it more like an adjustment towards a more reasonable image for the 21st century.
Personally I 'd be much more inclined to believe that the opinions expressed here: http://www.videogamer.com/reviews/assassins_creed_syndicate_review.html are closer to my own. Which is actually a shame as I'd have hoped they would have redeemed themselves with this one, but two poor min entries on the trot have probably completely killed the franchise for me personally.
Still, plenty of good games out there to play right now!
Slightly annoying, I don't want to have to create a party every 10 minutes if I'm playing with randoms, but the game modes seen so far seems straightforward enough that it hopefully won't impact on success massively if people aren't talking.
At the start of the beta I definitely thought it was too hard for the rebels, but that turned out to be largely because people were still learning the strategy for this game mode, and not playing the objective.
Later I realised that as long as your team plays the uplinks properly there are many ways to take down the AT-AT quickly and easily, e.g. 2 x orbital strikes will kill it from full health, so will 1 successful tow cable, and a few fighters hitting it in strafing runs seriously damage it.
It is too reliant on strong teamwork on the rebel side that's for sure, but small tweaks would do it. IMO reducing the AT-AT health slightly would be good, allowing infantry to do more damage to it, speeding up the Y-Wing launch slightly, and a good one a friend pointed out would be to prevent imperials using the rebel turrets against them, sure destroy them, but using them is a bit OTT.
@phbz Agreed, it's a compromise as an MMO, presumably so they could appeal to more people, so the start of the game is a solid mechanical shooter but a bit boring, and the end game is a slightly limited scope MMO. For me a full scale MMO is too life consuming (WoW nearly killed me back in the day!) so I love it, but I guess a perfect demographic of one isn't that great!
Destiny absolutely isn't for everyone. I think Bungie tried to get the mass appeal by repeatedly refuting claims that it is an MMO, but it is really. Personally I've wanted an FPS MMO on consoles for a while so I love it, but I do not expect everyone, or even most people to like it actually.
@Sevenizz I don't think so. On a scale of 1 to 10 (assuming 0 is not an option) 5.5 is average (call it 6 if you like), so 7 is above average, 8 is good, 9 or 10 is clearly excellent (but not perfect, a game can score 10 but not be perfect as on any scale it must be possible to score the highest and lowest score, or it's meaningless, and perfection is impossible).
