This system has foot in the grave at this point and will be heading for the great white yonder soon enough to go down in history with similar systems like the Jaguar, 3DO and other complete failures.

I don't know how Nintendo can make the greatest handheld replete with a robust library of awesome games and then fart out this abomination of a system. I feel sorry for anyone getting this thing as a holiday gift.

Agree with the exec, it seems like a good strategy that has served MS very well and probably will continue to do so in the future.

Still whether you are using this strategy or cultivating your own studios the end result is roughly the same.

But in the end I think I prefer Sony's strategy more as it seems to produce more games of greater quality, not to mention what they are doing in the indiespace a place where MS has really dropped the ball and where I think it will be much more important to have than AAA stuff since those are on the way out and indie is on the way in.

That is pretty damn lame. Still wouldn't effect me enough to hold back on a purchase, that game looks like it has 7000 hours worth of stuff in it as is.

@UpInFlames: Was a D a positive grade in High School? Because scoring 60% on a test is a D. Now, there are a couple of other points I was going to try to make with Gamespot's take on a 6 game, but what it all boils down to is that a 6 is what Gamespot gave to a Superman movie tie in mobile game. Is that really how they view the new Arkham game?

Equating the scale to the school grading system is a faulty way of looking at it. GameSpot's been clear from the very beginning they weren't treating it like that. The scale, as it's always been applied to game reviews, is anything within the 6-10 range is considered good, a 5 is average/middling, and anything between 4-1 is considered bad. This is how it's always been and always will be. Ask any of the editors and they would tell you the same thing.

That is what the editors may say but that is not the way the industry or the rating system as a whole actually works. A game is either 8. 9 or 10 in this industry or it is shit. That is the way people use the rating system (including most reviewers these days) that is pretty much unfortunately what the industry transformed into over the past 5 years or maybe even the past 10. Most people look at the ratings and that is how they are viewed, things have been that way for a long time.

Whether that is right or not is unfortunately irrelevant, it's just the way it is.

I blame young people.

I didn't like Limbo either, honestly. Once I got past the novelty of watching my little shadow guy die in so many gruesome and sometimes hilarious ways. It just didn't have any substance to it.

I thought the puzzles were pretty decent, especially the anti gravity ones at the end.

Those were the only good puzzles in the game. Everything else was terrible.

Well sir I disagree! But to each their own.

Gah, Planescape: Torment is my great regret. Always wanted to play it and just never got around to it. Is the GOG version in HD?

I don't think initially but there are mods right on the main GoG forum for the game that updates the resolution and graphics and all that. I have it installed on my laptop and had no problems with the few graphical mods it needs.

You would certainly like this game Flames, it is the epitome of actual roleplaying, the writing as well is amazing in both depth and complexity. It is a curious world to explore. Be forewarned though, this one is more dialouge than action or puzzle solving (though there is that too) but if heavy amounts of reading or whatever bothers you than you might be annoyed.

Gotta agree with Jbul Cleric, don't let the unwashed masses drag you into their filth. Anytime I see your name in a thread I will check it out just to see what you have to say, rise above the douche brother they aren't wroth it. Like Jbul says just ignore them, it is what I do as well otherwise you waste all your time and energy slogging mud in the dirt with people who live there.
