@mathepa: I have an Xbox 360 and PS4 that still plays games and still connects to the network. They work as they did out the box. Always able to play the games available to them.
Only just recently did they stop making games for them. They are well over the decade age mark. I guarantee you are not playing on or have recently played on a PC gaming rig from the 2005-7 era. Let alone able to run any new games on them. If you built a high end rig then, its in a landfill now polluting the water table. So um yeah...half the life span.
@Thanatos2k: PC gamers are kinda like those sport bike riders you see cutting people off on the road with an attitude that only rich Arabian Royalty seem to muster. There's an Anti-PC bias alright, but it's not because of the platform, it's the gamers. They generated and maintain their own stigma.
@lonesamurai1: One day when mommy and daddy are gone, you'll get tired of spending all that money gaming on a PC...suddenly, without warning, you'll break down and buy a console not realizing it looks and plays almost identical to what you've been playing on the PC. It'll be your "aha!" Moment.
You think I know nothing about PC gaming? lol hate to break it to ya sport but I'm willing to bet I was gaming on a PC long before you shat your diapers for the first time. Unlike you, I smartened up and switched over to console gaming because the cost does not justify the end result. Nice try tho
@justiceiroquois: although I will agree PC gaming is impractical and expensive, consoles going digital has nothing to do with corporations wanting to get rich.
Think of it like cameras. It used to be that you had to go to a store/shop to buy film to put in the camera. Then you had to send it out to get developed.
Now, all cameras are digital with photos being stored?...you guessed it... digitally. It wasn't a move to make money, if anything companies like Polaroid and Kodak went bust. It's just progress. You either adapt or sit at home blowing on cartridges like Dice at a craps table hoping it'll work this time.
@SerOlmy: For PC maybe but consoles don't suffer the same fate. You can STILL find game lobbies for TF1. Kinda humbling considering the money you guys dumped on that mini-frig of a game machine
@bbq_R0ADK1LL: you SP introverts crack me up. You guys complain about value when it comes to campaigns but then go on to buy a SP 30hr campaign you can beat in a weekend and/or buy the same exact FIFA and Madden game EVERY year...all at full price.
