If you want a cheap and fun multi shooter you can pick up FarCry IP for about 20 bucks i think. The map maker is awesome, and predator mode never gets old. The online game in theory can never get old since you can always make new and intersting maps, and download other player's maps aswell. It has a lot of fun vehicles too, but may be annoying to control at times. The graphics are pretty dated, since it is an Xbox port in high res, but with good looking water. But still was a hell of a fun multiplayer game.
Well COD 4 comes out in a few days and will rock. I myself cant recommend The Orange Box for multiplayer, cause IMO Team Fortress 2 is not very fun at all, I played it for about30 minutes, could hardly connect to a game or find one, and when I did, I would get dropped out. When I did get to play, the actual game wasnt much fun at all, the gameplay was actually kinda bad and I did not enjoy it one bit, the classes werent that fun either. The aiming was off, and a lot of the characters ran way to fast to hit, and the shooting just wasnt satisfying.SoDO NOTget Orange Box for multiplayer, though every thing else in the OB is amazing,except notTF2.
You guys cant be serious?!?! The game is awesome! I havent played the actual game as of yet, but I have the demo and I love it! Messing with the enemies(who actually have good AI) with the timeshifting powersis so much fun, there is so many ways to approach the frantic firefights in the game. Pausing time to grab the enemies gun outta thier hand,as they getconfused and rush for a new weapon, while you just melee them in the face ispriceless.The graphics, and physics are great as well. With nice rain effects. The multiplayer, according to the reviews is supposed to a lot of fun too. How can you not be having fun with the game!?!?
Yeah, CoD3 is even awesomer too! Halo 3 has become too much like work for me, so I LOVE playing CoD3. CoD3's graphics are just stunning, and the gameplay is more realistic. catrocr
I agree partly on that though. Halo 3's ranked matchmaking is more like work, or a second lame job, trying to level up, and trying to not level down from lame losses. It is more frusturating than fun most of the time. But Social, and Custom multiplayer matches(especially fun custom gametypes and maps, and Infection) just cant be beat.
How can you still play that game?!?!? COD 2 was fun at launch, but got old rather quick, like a couple months later, not even.(as did PDZ.) Dont get me wrong, it was one of the best WW2 games out there, but compared to FPS out now, it is complete trash! Everything about it is already dated, which is sad. The graphics, which were only decentanyways when it came out, are now total rubbish, and almost last-gen. The online sucks horribly, 4 on 4, same thing over and over, lame maps now, no vehicles, simple gameplay now, no phyics engine, no enviroment interaction whatsoever,its just ughhh now. COD3,s multplayer is still servicable though. There is just so many FPS to play that destroy that game now. COD 4is going to incredible though.
Delete the ClientRegistry.blob file and everything should be fine (this file holds your account info so probably something got corrupt and that's the reason you can't run source games...at least most of the times).Gamartto

Is it newly installed? or did it work ok b4? If so, have you changed anything on your pc or installed / uninstalled anything since it worked ok?

No, it is not newly installed, Ive had it for while now. If worked fine a few months ago, but havent played them since, and now all online games like DOD, HL2:Deathmatch, and CS arent working though HL2:Lost Coast works. The only things Ive uninstalled since are Quake Wars demo, some anit-virus thing a couple months ago. IVE installed updates and COD 4 demo. Oh and Project 64 emulator.
Yea, thats what I was kinda thinking I would have to do, just wanted to make sure. Also, by the waymy I-Tunes isnt playing musiceither,there is no sound, I click on a song, and nothing, not even the progress bar goes so I know its nothing to do with the sound, cause my sound is on and all the way up. I know that is kinda random,but a lot of issues have just started yesterday, you think I have a virus? Though I havent played any of my Source games in acouple monthswhile so I have no idea when they stopped working.
