There has been no announcements about it. However, the real reason to introduce the 65nm chips is to reduce manufacturing costs. Typically, when manufacturing costs are reduced the price is dropped. Seeing as MS just dropped the price, I think it's safe to assume that they've introduced the chips, at the very least at the manufacturing plants. Whether those units have hit stores is another story. However, new Premium units with HDMI adapters are in stores now. Why would MS drop the price and change the hardware set up without adding the chips? Additionally, while it's fantastic that MS offers a 3 year warranty to make up for their mistake, I don't think they'd offer this without first making the changes to reduce the amount of replaced units. It's just smart business. Anyway, while I don't know for sure, it looks to me that the 65nm chips are either in stores, arriving now, or arriving very shortly. Either way, since there's a 3 year warranty, why wait? If you get one without the new hardware revision, you're still covered for 3 years. By the time it craps out, if it craps out, then it will be replaced by one with the new chips. IMO, no worries.
Those were separate observation as 65nm chips haven't shipped yet, my comment was that both noise reducing upgrades we are waiting for, the chip and the drive, were not in current Elites thus not the reason why my Elite is quieter tham my Premium.

Just curious. How do you know the 65nm chips haven't shipped yet? Since the main purpose of the 65nm chips is to reduce manufacturing costs, I wouldn't think MS would offer a price cut before the price of manufacturing was actually reduced. I always assumed the price cut would coincide with the introduction of the new chips. Additionally, I wouldn't think MS would offer the 3 year warranty and retroactive reimbursement without having taken steps to reduce the amount of defective 360s. Just smart business. Anyway, got a link as to the actual date of the chips being included?
Poorly designed and they rushed it out to get it in for the holiday season of 2005.MJB91
So what's your excuse for the massive PS2 defects resulting in a lawsuit for Sony in which they settled out of court. Did they rush it too? It happens. MS made a mistake and owned up to it. 3 year warranty, retroactive reimbursement, and the new hardware revision solves the problem. A lot different than Sony refusing to do anything until sued and still never admitting that they, a hardware company, screwed up as well.
also im not saying all americans are jackasses. just alot of them are ignorant on liveA_ShooK_One
I'm an American and it does seem sometimes that there are more American jackasses than jackasses from other nationalities. However, something to consider is that America is by far the largest gaming market. It's nearly 4 times the size of Europe and Europe is twice that of Japan. Therefore, there just are way more Americans on LIVE than anyone else. Every country has jackasses, but if you have more people from one country on LIVE, it just follows that you'll have more jackasses from that country as well. Percentage-wise, America doesn't have more jackasses than other countries, though it may seem that way since there are so many Americans online.
