Imagine the great new products they could release if the put that money towards R&D and MFG, instead of the leadership at MS bribing each other to make the stock go up.
I think it comes down to the type of games they player likes, as well as if they live in a city or not.
If you play MMOs or online only games, then there's really no difference to owning physical or digital copy since you still need to be online to play anyways.
The problem for Stadia and the like is with games that have great offline modes, like a single player story or PvE mode. Those games are great for people with laptops like me can who can still enjoy them when "off the grid."
I think that's why Steam works so well, and where Stadia is going to be challenged with all but online only games.
Honestly, I wish Steam would buy Shadow, and cut the price to $14.99. If they did that, my next PC might be a rented cloud PC ;-)
@vikinglord666: More likely normal people just won't spend their money on dumb stuff. The silent majority doesn't have high visibility boycotts, they just don't spend their money and time on things they don't like.
So I don't see a civil war unless some politician is dumb enough to try and confiscate personal firearms.
"her actions in this episode don't really make sense. Why torch every street and pointlessly murder thousands of innocent people when she could fly straight to the Red Keep and melt Cersei,"
