GoBulldogs - now THATS the kind of reply I was looking for! Someone who has had experience with Wii component cables - not a lecture on buying cheap cables ;) I have purchased some cheap ones from eBay - will test those out very soon (haven't got them through the post yet). Hopefully the image quality will be quite reasonable. GoBulldogs - those cables you linked there look like the BLAZE cables :D

Well - my main concern is HDTV, not SDTV. If they can plug into an SDtv, good. But it all depends on the type (make) of tv, sometimes things are different from set to set. - whilst one will have a clear picture, older ones (or cheaper ones) might not have the same picture. In my case - I found that component is pretty good. Sometimes the reds are a bit lagging behind the rest of the colours... but I don't get that at certain resolutions. High resolutions is perfect. My tv goes to 1080i. So I am looking for cables which won't just make the imperfections more visible (like if cheap cables give off a hazy image or something). I have ordered some cheap cables from eBay - gold plated ones. So I will let you know what they are like! You never know, I could get an awesome picture - and save myself a bundle! They came to a total £7.49. Which is awesome compared to the £23 official cables. But lets hope the image is good!

Yeah, I quite like the idea of a Wii aquarium... Lol, they could call it the "Aqwiirium" :P I thought that it could just be a channel (like the news channel) and its internally stored, so people can add fish to the aquarium (like friends, etc). Friends could even put little "challenges" inside there for you, like a stinky fish which makes the tank fill with algy more frequently, and makes the other fish move away from wherever it is. Also - I thought that you could drop Mii's into the aquarium, and they swim about in little diving suits. And getting chased by the scary fish. I think I may create some sort of project and send it to Nintendo... will let you know how it goes! hehe. ALSO - It would be cool if you could customize the aquarium with things of your choice - If you fill it with skulls and things like that - the fish become mean, if you fill it with flowers, they become hippy-like... And if you mix it about a bit, fish can have different personalities, and terrorise eachother. Then, you can drop a Mii in there to sort them out. I would also think it would be good if you got "stuck" in the aquarium. Like, you could have all your fish be cranky, no matter how much you clean the tank or put nice things in there, or get the mii's in there for them to chase. You would then get a message pop up in their thoughts (when you click on one, a bubble appears with what they are thinking). In one thought it could say "I really want a samus aran Ball to roll about..." so, you then buy something like a virtual console metroid game (or metroid 3) and download the ball to the aquarium. hehe.

Well, I call it HD cables - because you need a HDtv to view the images with these cables... 480p is alot better than through s-video or composite in 480i. Reasons - alot of HDtv's have special scaling for stuff through the composite (or scart) ports in the tv. This makes games look a little muddy and blurry and for half a second, renders moving images blurry, but when they settle (like text for example) it becomes slightly clearer. HD (component) cables reduce this, make the lines crisper, make the black colour pallets even more black, and generally make things more vibrant and "alive". My question - do the cheap cables give out the same results as the official nintendo ones??

I like the Wii, alot. And I know the system is fairly limited. However, there is room for improvement all over the place. I have some ideas and things that I would like to see in an update in the future, if anyone has ideas and things that they would like to see on their Wii - then feel free to add some. Perhaps Nintendo can have a little read of this (lol) or provoke some people to write to Nintendo and moan at them to create such features in the future - here goes! I would like the Wii to have more Mii edit options. Like resizing the head to be short, or narrow. I would like to have more Mii edit options (part 2) - this time, I would love Nintendo to include special items for Mii's, like hats, glasses, face-paints, shirts - etc. If you bought a game (like mario galaxy) then you can simply insert the game, and download the Mii content from the disc onto an SD or the Wii itself. The stuff could include a Mario hat for your Mii to wear. You could then trade items with friends who have earned items from other games for their Mii's - but do not have the items that you have. This would be a cool way to have a Wii version of achievment points. I doubt Nintendo will have wiipoints as earnables. But having stuff for your Mii's unlocked when you achieve certain things sounds pretty good to me. I would like the Wii to be able to play background music on the main menu. Access, say, the settings, and tell the Wii what music you want to play with what channel. I am getting irritated by the looping Mii editing music, when you edit 2 or 3 Mii's - that music can drive you crazy. So I hope that the Wii can accept your own MP3 tunes, and use them as background tunes. Perhaps pressing HOME can bring you to a music selection window... I would like the Wii to have a custom screensaver, or background for the wii channels. It would be cool to go to the photochannel, select picture and "set as background". You can then see a feint pic that you chose on the wiichannel menu. Also - if you leave the wii discarded for a little while, a screensaver appears - showing you a slideshow of photos, whilst playing music of your choice. Lastly, more Wii software! Stuff that is small in size, but fun to use. I would love to have a wii aquarium sort of thing, which runs at real-time, you can go and play games and things, but you need to come back at some time to feed the virtual fish. Again, it would be cool if there was a Nintendo fishing game, which you could then catch special fish to put in this aquarium . and then you can trade these fish with friends. Anyways, those are my thoughts. :)

Hey you guuuuyyyss. I am on the prowl for some Wii Component cables. I have a 42" HDtv and the wii images are kinda getting on my nerves now, alot of the time, the screen is bordered on the sides in 60hz (pal) but in 50hz (pal) there is NO borders at all... but the speed is quite a bit slower... Anyways - I am looking to get some HD cables which make the images crisper. bearing in mind, I already have owned a 360 - so I know what I am looking for when it comes to HD gaming on this TV. My main question is - Are the cheap cables worth it? I mean, the Official HD cables from Nintendo are about £20 odd. Whilst on eBay you can grab some cables for about £6. Whats the difference? Surely Nintendo are not using some sort of "monster cable" style of connections or anything. Has anyone procured a set of cheap-o wii hd cables? I suppose alot of you wouldn't of tried out two sets of cables, but those of you who know of a story, or even have had experience with the cheap cables - any details will be great. My main thing is - I can get JUST the wii hd cables for £23... OR I can get cheap cables AND a 2gb sd card for the same price. If there is hardly any difference in the cheap cables, then I will go for those. But I do not wish to waste the cash on cables which produce a grainy image, or increase the border problems.. Thanks in advance :)

You could do so much! But i dont think the ds could handle all those polygons (u know, for the bigger girls...). You could use the stylus as a hose and wet their t shirt... does the ds handle transparencies well? ;) lol One really good difference (which is more of an improvement than a gimmick) is that you could buy her accessories, but depending on how you treated her, she could either pose in it for you, or throw it in your face.. or simply you could just tell her to wear it and she has to (depends on how you treat yo woman!). Yeah, the idea would be pretty sweet, it could be done with a teen rating (minus the wet t shirt and all that). What would be a better idea if nintendo were to release this, you would make an account on nintendo (and give your age etc). Your copy of the game would have its own unlock code. To retrieve it, you would access your account, if you are old enough to have the password without concent from the parent first... (haha you could get ur parents to sign using ur ds and the wi fi :) LOL!) you get the password and you unlock the "mature" content. Pretty good idea?

What is great thought is that this is SOFTWARE, and i am sure if people kick up a fuss, nintendo will change it.

The ds is pretty limited because of the memory and cartridge size etc. I would expect the the wii to have a similar interface to the ds, but essencially it will be bigger, faster and more efficient. Think of internet on the palm pc compared to just the pc? BESIDES!!! damn you guys, you moan about the internet on consoles like you have the best of that world anyway! so, if you do, then you have no need to moan right??!!??!?! If you want to geekily join rooms, and make fake friends and you know, spaz all over your console like a perv on a "bonely state of mind" then basically get a 360, or better still, get a damn pc. Either way, i wouldnt pay £20 odd a month for internet on my pc, £5 a month for xbox live aswell. I would much rather get up and running proper internet at home, and play fun wii games online with friends with the FREE NO HASSTLE WII SERVICE!! Im not the type of person who likes to hang out and make internet friends etc, i like to play games etc. And basically the audience nintendo are aiming for are gamers who arent doing stuff they are already doing now. GET WITH THE PROGRAM ALREADY! Think different, y'all are sounding like tomorrows parents already !! hahah
