Kazaam. Easily, the WORST movie of all time. I saw it only because Shaq was in it.

As I said before, the only reason he is as popular as he is is because he died. His so called "legendary" status was gained completely post-mordem(spelling?). He also resided during a time when piracy wasn't rampant, a point that you made already but I still felt that it needed to be reiterated.

How come Tupac has songs in the National Archives? It's surely not because he is dead, right? The reason he does, is because he was a lyrical genius and mastermind.
Tupac had his good moments, and he had his bad ones. He wasn't a lyrical genius, but was pretty great with wordplay. Thing is, people overestimate martyred musicians' abilities over time. Lennon and Cobain are deemed by many as geniuses of their craft, lyrical geniuses, etc. Jimi Hendrix is made out to be the most proficient guitarist who ever lived. Etc. None of it's true. It's all exaggerated. Tupac falls into this theme too. He was great at what he did, but he wasn't impeccable. He had a lot of tracks like "Breathin" and "Check Out Time", which aren't exactly A class stuff by almost any measure.Okay, I can understand you saying Cobain is a martyr, although he did bring Grunge to national light. But seriously, you can't say that Jimi Hendrix is exaggerated. There was no one like Jimi before, and no one like him today. He was a pioneer for rock music. Hendrix was truly a genius and revolutionary.
Lost, Simpsons, South Park, most of Family Guy.

"look at my sales, let's do the math, if I was black, I would've sold half, I Ain't have to graduate from Lincoln high school to know that"
Lets be real we all know who eminem appeals to.and its a reason a lot of his fans don't check for other rappers

Not counting Digital Underground, Tupac has sold 75 million records in 6 years of producing music, and 20 years of it being circulated (started in 91). That's 12.5 million records for every one year he produced music. Eminem has sold 86.5 million records and he has been producing records for 12 years. Eminem has, rounding down, sold 7 million records for every year has been producing records. You could argue that online piracy would make Eminem's record sales far stronger and that 2Pac's popularity remains the same because of the vast amounts of music he recorded but the fact remains that not only was 2Pac able to record what conservative measurements say is around 800-900 songs, he is able to, from the grave, surpass rappers who are still alive, and per year sell more than Eminem, an artist who, as you said yourself, has a much larger demographic based on race.
/2pac not being a legend

[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"][QUOTE="GrodyBean"]/Claps/ Said like a boss. Good work :D Gnarls Barkley, and Cee Lo Green are both good (I know Cee Lo Green is in Gnarls Barkley) By the way have you guys listened to every single underground hip/hop act? Don't generalize unless you know for a fact that every band in a certain genre is bad..saying that kanye is the best of hip hop right now is really not saying much...

From my experience in Underground rap, the only good artist i've found is Tyler. Almost everything else I can't stand.

Maybe someone should shoot him like Biggie and Pac and then we will see if your right or not??

Kanye will never be remembered as a great rapper. He'll probably be categorized with people like Lil Wayne, who really have no talent but just use auto tune to appeal to young kids. Seriously, if Kanye stayed true to his roots, I would consider him great, but he too strayed towards autotune. 808's and Heartbreak was an absolutely atrocious, auto tuned pile of BS.
Tupac on the other hand, was a lyrical genius. The only person I could compare to him would be Eminem. Tupac had songs put into the National archives for christ's sake! Kanye could never do that.
wtf are you talking aboutno talent? strayed towards autotune?
first of kanye is the most talented individual in the whole of hip hop atm
second of all 808s was an experimental album he made after he broke up with his gf and his mom died and it was a great album. he has gone back to real rap nowadays with mbdtf which is among the most critically acclaimed albums in history
saying that kanye is the best of hip hop right now is really not saying much...
please just stop you have no idea what youre talking about in time kanye will be recognised as a hip hop legend[QUOTE="kan_yeezy"]
[QUOTE="DmadFearmonger"]In time Kanye West will be a forgotten number just like every other pop star before him.bayloski
