I'm still in shock.  Really, I am.  I...wow.  This is...crazy.  I'm so excited!

As they get ready to release ZEITGEIST--their sixth album and first of new material since 2000--THE SMASHING PUMPKINS have announced two sets of residency gigs: nine unprecedented shows at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC (June 23, 24, 26, 27, 29, 30 and July 2, 3, and 5) plus eight shows at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco (July 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30 and 31 and August 1). 

At these very special and intimate residencies, the band will vary set lists from night to night. They'll perform songs from Zeitgeist and Pumpkins c.l.a.s.s.ics plus retool songs that didn't make it onto Zeitgeist and even offer tunes written the day of the show. The shows will give fans a unique opportunity to see the Pumpkins inside the process of creation and operating in the spur of the moment.  The band will be taking chances in the hope of taking fans, and their music, to new places.

The Asheville shows mark the first time the Pumpkins will have played a residency since their four gigs at the Double Door in Chicago in 1994 before the release of Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness.  Fans attending the Fillmore and Orange Peel shows are invited to capture the concerts with audio and video recorders.The eight concerts in San Francisco mark the first time the band has returned to The Fillmore since April of 1994 when they were invited to be the band to re-open the historic venue.

You all probably don't realize how amazing this is.  Of all places for THE Smashing Pumpkins to play, and not once, not even 5 times, but 9 times!  Just wow.

Well that was one of my favorite songs.  Moving on however...I feel pretty good today.  I lost yet another pound so 8 pounds now! I also feel pretty different...because in an attempt to regain my natural hair color (dark brown) the dye inadvertently left me with jet black hair.  I once had jet black hair for about 2 years in fact, so it's not a huge deal I suppose...but it's still kind of a shock.  I haven't had black hair since July 2005.  I like myself with black hair though.  I look like Snow White again.  The last time I had black hair I became obsessed with Snow White because everyone said I looked like her, and I kept my obsession eventhough I had red hair for the longest time.  So now my red apple tattoo might make more sense to people.

Anyways, tonight is chaotic...I hate trying to make plans with like 2 groups of people and each group is unsure of all the details they need to determine before we can formulate a plan.  I guess that was confusing but you know what I mean.  It's just frustrating.  So here I sit 15 more minutes until I know what the heck I'm going to do tonight.  It could consist of either playing Rook, going to a bar, hangin at my friends apartment, or going to a movie.  Who knows.  *sigh*

I don't have time to post anything lengthy because I'm heading out with my mom to find her something she wants for Mother's Day.  But I was just excited enough to post because I've lost 7 pounds now! :)  I have one week to lose 3 more.  *Begs the heavens* Pwease?

So you all are going to think I'm dumb...but I'm excited about this.  Since Monday I've lost 4.5 pounds.  :)  I know it's not much, but it's better than nothing!  My boyfriend about killed me with exercise yesterday.  He tried to teach me how to throw a frisbee.  I suck at everything when I'm around him because I get nervous.  Then he attempted to show me how to hold a football.  Yeah like that's going to happen.  I'm probably the least athletic person I know.  Not just because I'm not 'fit' persay, but also because I just really don't have a knack for anything like that.  I was blessed in all other areas of intelligence but not in the bodily-kinesthetic field.  No sir.  It was really hot outside too.  Hopefully I'll get tan at least from all this. 

I'm going to a Beatles Tribute concert in Asheville a week from Friday with my boyfriend.  It's going to be so great!  I'd like to lose 10 pounds total by then.  So 5.5 pounds left to go.  I hope I can do it. :)  You should see me at Beatles tribute concerts.  I lose all sense of self consciousness, and I do whatever I want.  Because when it comes to the Beatles, I'm queen. ;) ha ha.  The time before last that I went to a Beatles tribute concert I did the twist so hard that my skirt nearly fell off! :oops:  Plus I'm the screamer too.  It's just part of the experience with Beatles trib bands.  You've seen Beatlemania footage c'mon.  The girls have to scream.  It just works that way. 

If you'll remember the post a while back about my bf suggesting we adjust our pace etc, well he's confusing me yet again.  After saying all that about how we should not see each other quite so much give each other space etc, he's completely contradicting that now.  Which I'm completely and utterly thrilled about...but it just worries me that he'll change his mind again.  So far this week we'll begin with Friday.  I was with him from Friday about 5:00 pm until Sunday about 5:00 pm and then he came over Monday about 5:00 pm and stayed til around 9:00 pm and then Yesterday I went down about 5:30 and stayed there til I left this morning about 10 am.  And then I'm supposed to go back down tonight at 7 and stay again.  See what I mean? I mean this is exactly how I want it, but do you think this proves he's changed his mind about the stuff he said originally?  Because he's the one asking me over.  I'm not like inviting myself.  *Sigh*  I really do worry too much. lol.  Thanks for listening to my ramblings.

"Instant Karma: The Campaign to Save Darfur," the new global "Make Some Noise" project from Amnesty International, seeks to mobilize millions around the urgent catastrophe in Darfur, Sudan. It combines the power of John Lennon's music recorded by some of the world's best-known artists, together with cutting-edge forms of instant activism enabled by Internet and mobile technologies.

The project will call attention to the urgent situation in Darfur where over 300,000 have died, 2.5 million have been displaced from their homes, and 4.5 million people in Darfur and hundreds of thousands in the neighboring countries of Chad and Central African Republic are at risk of starvation, disease, and further attacks. Yoko Ono generously granted rights to John Lennon's entire solo songbook to Amnesty International, the world's largest grassroots human rights organization, to use as the centerpiece of this project and to inspire and invigorate a new generation of human rights activists.

More than 50 musical artists (names to be announced) have joined this international effort that combines John Lennon music, technology, and human rights activism. First day of summer for me, and I get woken up at 5:55 am. Swell. Grand. Really. It's ok though...I got to rub my happiness in the face of a person who once made me very sad. Sweet vengeance. :) More later...

Now at 11:35 perhaps I'm more capable of making sense.

So yes as I said..first day of summer and my ex phones from the UK just to catch up nothing dodgy but it was 5:55 in the morning. So of course I get online for a few to hear about his gettin a flat with his gf and such. A while back I went through a rough confusing time where I thought I might want him back and he said we couldn't. But when I got with my new bf he IM'ed me and told me we should go for it so I told him no. But as I was saying, yes he made me sad during that confusing period, and now I get to tell him about what my boyfriend has planned for me for my birthday this weekend because he never ever took me out anywhere or anything. My bf has booked a hotel for the weekend in Asheville, NC, and we have tickets to the Wolfmother show Friday night! Then we have the rest of the weekend to see the city and do as we please. Plus we're both currently on a fitness kick so we may do something outdoorsy too.

No one's ever done something so involved for me for my birthday before. Not even my parents! I just keeping looking at the whole situation and wanting to translate it as his really loving me. He's not the type to tell though, so I'm afraid to make assumptions.

Thanks to noahcrash's blog making me think of my lifetime song...I felt the need to share it in it's entirety.  It was covered by some lady for the theme song on the show "Providence" so you've likely heard it kind of, but the Beatles version is far superior.  So I hope you all find some way to listen to it if you haven't already at some point in your lives.
