I got it too and found it a bit repetitive. Go in and exterminate mutants. Go back and repeat... Kinda took the interest out of finding new sewers for me.
I´m on Gamespot, but to be honest not for long. Trying to get my own blog up and running and between that, job and gaming (I only get around 2 hours a day these days!!) I don´t have time for much more.
Sorry guys!
Here in Spain it´s "Feliz Navidad"...
It´s a good job I don´t sleep till late, otherwise I´d never get to play with you guys (hehe).
The good thing about achievements is that in games like ME or Fable, it forces you to explore "off the beaten path" as if you just follow the storyline, you get to half the level etc. With ME I managed Lvl 50, something the Gamespot game guide said was tough on the first attempt, mainly because I explored every corner of every planet and opened EVERYTHING I could find...
My problem is that the dev's seem to be inviting gamers to jump straight into MP because if you don´t, after a few months there´s no one playing online which means there´s no way the average player like me who works & plays will have the time necessary to unblock achievements before the server is pulled.
It´s frustrating, but not an obsession. Just seems unfair on players who buy the game late (eg in the sales) only to find their "glory" is limited. I was shocked to go back to Battlefield Bad Company 2 and find so few players online... I was playing late for Spain (eg early for the US) and it was hard to get more than a 5-a-side match. Shame really.
@Gun_Chimp
If I were you, I would skip Oblivion and head straight into Skyrim. As it pales in comparison. Skyrim is so much better. But expect to sink some serious time into it. You can easily spend 200 hours with that game. And an achievement whore like yourself, can probably double that amount.Hastur
He,he... I AM an achievement whore, for that reason I ploughed 40+ hours into Mass Effect and reached Level 50 on the first playthrough. I´m also getting worried too - Between Fable 2 (abandoned at the half way point); Mass Effect (still need to play it 2-3 more times before switching to ME2) AND Oblivion (biiiig game, but the combat SUCKS - just can´t get the hang of it... Any tips anyone???) I really don´t have enough time in the day to play everything as they should be played, to the death!!
Plus Red Dead is calling out to me, and GTA IV..... aaaargh, need to ask Santa for a time machine, or a clone so I can send him to work and I can stay home with the Xer...!
BF3 for me... dunno what happened, just got bored I guess (find myself playing more BFBC 2... which appears to be in danger of extinction because finding a fully manned match is impossible (usually teams of 3-4 a side on conquest which is, well, plain silly).
I´m being sucked into RPGS - first Mass Effect, then Fable 2, now Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. As a result, I completely suck at FPS and to be fair they don´t seem to capture my attention lately... Weird...!
I had a lot of fun too guys, thanks a lot!! Made me remember how much fun Borderlands is in co-op (I usually split screen with my girlfriend). With the leveling I´d suggest either driving around smashing skags with your car or simply going into densly populated areas (eg Lost Caves) and blasting everything you can - you´ll soon level up.
Also, and I know you hate this, but sell EVERYTHING you don´t loose - you also level up easily just for buying & selling. Have fun bro. Hopefully we can do it again sometime... I also need to work out why the DLCs don't show up as I installed both discs!! grrr!
Happy Holidays (I think that´s what you guys say... for us in the UK it´s Merry Christmas!)
I tend to "complete" every game, even on the hardest level. My problem and growing niggle is that, as I work, I usually pick up games late which means the majority of the MP achievements I can´t get because someone has turned off the server, or there simply isn´t anyone playing them anymore.
So they sit there, half completed, goading me... Grrrr!
Dev's should have some sort of update which removes achievements if they turn off the server - if not, how can you get 100% on a game if, like with MOH:Airbourne, the servers no longer exist? It´s like asking a cop to resist a donut - it´s never gonna happen!
