I understand they need upgraded versions to keep pace with new technology and to give game designers a wider scope, but I can´t help feeling that sometimes they rush the new consoles out without the proper testing.  I've had an XBOX 360 for three years, and never had a problem with it.  Once the disc tray jammed, so I placed it horizontally instead of upright and works fine again.  My shiny new XBOX Slim is weird... sometimes the tray doesn´t open when you hear the "ping"; sometimes it just jumps out of a game of it´s own accord, and sometimes it takes aaaages to load up my profile.

Not convinced the new consoles are "made to last" like the older ones... 

I'd just like to see a game which took MORE than a measly 8 or 9 hours to complete!  Also more dedicated server support, people buy second hand or "classic" games years after they first come out, but they always remain about 50% complete because there are no servers, leaving you to never unlock MP achievements not through lack of skill, but lack of servers!

Grrrr!  I paid good money for a full-priced, older game!  What gives you the right to stop me from enjoying all it´'s glory, on and off line??? 

A new first for me... I´ve actually pre-ordered two games:

• RAGE

Will probably pick up the collectors edition of Gears 3 for my girlfriend too, she´s a big fan (I´m not.  Loved the story, but too linear & samey in MP)

he he, typical!  Just when I lend my copy of RDR out, everyone starts to play it!  In August I´m off over to the UK to see the family, and pick up RDR:Undead Nightmares... mwa-ha-haaa.  Hopefully when I get back I can link up with you guys in the not-so-wild west!

The WII never seemed to appeal to me... Guess I´m from the school of thinking that if I wanna run or move, I press X!!

My friends who have Wii's usually have them for their younger kids, as the skill and graphic levels in the games are usually "big, bright and beautiful" with the emphasis on fun and moving around...  My friends swear by it as the best "minder" in the biz for their kids to keep them entertained and out from under their feet for a while!

@Bear... the marathon's are fun... until I realise its 5am and the sun is coming up!  I tend to play at least a few hours a day, then from around 5pm Saturday til Sunday around 10 (hehe).  Normally it´s off-line during the week, and online at weekends,
