I've a TV that's around 25-27 inches. It can play HD stuff and has ports for both HDMI and component cables. Is there abig difference in quality between the two cables? Or is it roughly the same in which if I buy the component cables, it won't make much of a difference? Thanks

Based on your screen size I am assuming that your TV is not full HD (1920x1080) so HDMI isn't as much as an improvement than component. However since HDMI sends a digital audio and video signal the colors and sound are going to be more crisp... Buy the cheapest HDMI cable you can find because its digital its a signal made up of 0's and 1's therefore the rip-offs that say "this is coated with a gold lining for better signals, blah, blah, blah" are false (you either get a signal or not from HDMI there is no "SUPERIOR" picture between one HDMI cable and another... All in all, get HDMI for future TV sets you might own, and for the present it will give you a slightly better overall experiance
