i want to put a hard drive from my old pc to one i built recently,do i have to back up all data and format it?or can i just plug and play it?:P

Funny because I can play FIFA soccer, NBA 2K12, FF3, GTA 3, Modern Combat 3 and a whole bunch of other "full fledged" type games on my iPad and not look like a complete tool doing so out in public. Granted, it looked bad but hey truth is I was just really into my facebook on the bowl in privacy and it was the only spot to get away from her constant clingyness/issues and have some alone time alone without her scrutinizing every converstation, post, or friend (whichever ones I still had, they all stayed away because she went psycho gf on them and was generally unpleasant). 2 years of fighting and war living together because she felt threatened by every single female in my life, from family to friends, and every male capable of bringing me around females when she wasan't around. well im actually saving around 1500-1700 for a completely new rig that i hope ill buy in spring,i just want something to keep me occupied till then.i dont want to spend too much cause im saving for the other.but tell me about the hard drive,yes mine is around 60gb:P,its small,hahahahah

would a high end hard drive be compatible with a low end motherboard that i plan to buy(as you can see im somewhat clueless)?if i can buy it from now maybe ill do it
