There are tons of games out there that are disappointing. Face it, you looked at a really neat game that you wanted for some time(Fable, i'm looking at you!), you finally get, you play it, and you all of a sudden throw down you controler in disappointment. For me, there's very few that do.
Fable, which was supposed to be called as "the greatest RPG of all time" by creator Peter Moloneux, is one of them. What turned out was just another great rpg, but not as great as promised. To have the creator step out in the open and say "I'm sorry", really doesn't do the game any good does it?
Another one, Goldeneye: Rouge Agent was supposed to be good because it sported the goldeneye logo. Turns out the repetitive level design and horrible controls made this game spit all over a good licence.
And finally, we have Doom 3 for the PC. What it lacks in gameplay, it surely makes up for in graphics. The use of lighting and shadow in the game is revolutionary and unbelievable. The gameplay, unfortunatley isn't.
Just how many games will be disappointing this year? Hopefully, not too many. I'm looking forward to Republic Commando and Chaos Theroy, and i hope they won't fall into that category. I'm sure you all agree with me, right? Right?
