I stopped at my Gamecrazy today and bought a SNES controller (mine has a broken Y button). Anyway, we got to talking about Contra 4 (Which I am very eagerly anticipating) and he claims when he spoke to some Konami rep they said that Contra 1 and 2 is an unlockable feature.

Now I know "the guy at gamecrazy" isn't a very credible source, however I have heard this rumor a few other places and on the internet as well. So allthough this is by no means a confirmation, it does give the rumor a tiny bit more life.

The "Konami Rep" also said that there was a preorder bonus but it has been cancelled.

Sounds good.

Unfortunately, I doubt it will ever happen, especially with Brawl coming out soon as it is - plus Smash Bros 64's inevitable arrival on the VC.

As most know Contra 4 is going to be badass, but here is my question:

Is there anything you get for preordering it at a certain place? (Somewhat like the castlevania thing)

Because I'm heading over to the Game Crazy around here to pick something up and if they have something for preordering I'm going to do that while I'm there.
