Drake is for a good time and shallow music. (not trying to be insulting but it's true)

CH is a more serious artist, his singing will annoy you quickly though.

It's a masterpiece, great album.

But, it didn't necessarily leave a dent in the hip hop world like mecca did commercially. I liked this more than mecca but to me I think an album needs to be influential in some way  to be classic. Just because it's great doesn't mean it's classic.

Chaundon is the only dope one in there. We need L.E.G.A.C.Y. and Phonte.

I wasn't feeling the My time song at all. He's just biting maino with All of the above and that song is major weak. Fab got skills but he's def not gonna put east coast back on the map with this album.

[QUOTE="fat_rob"][QUOTE="WorstGameEver"]people still pay attention to the game?iHeartCali
seriously, game is such a bum...

Game gonna bring the west coast back dog

He shoulda done that a long time ago.

Detox better do it's job in resurrecting the west coast, I doubt it will considering the first song has TI in it.

[QUOTE="bradleybhoy"]I was planning on looking up most of the albums in this thread but I check some of the links and I realised this type of Hip-Hop, the production and vocals, just doesn't appeal to me. Production wise it just seems too artificial and formulaic and as for vocals, most of them sound like Too $hort to me. I dug a couple of the E-40 and Spice 1 tracks but that was about it.Orlando_Magic

You're missing out on some great stuff...

These next few albums might be more up your alley. Aceyalone is one of the most unique MC's on the west coast and one of my favorite of all-time. His wordplay is crazy and he's very intelligent. Prior to going solo he was apart of the group FreestyIe Fellowship who were very innovative with their flow and their whole sing song styIe pretty much birthed Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. "Mary" from Innercity Griots prolly is the best example of this influence but lucky for you, that song isn't up on youtube. I also threw in the Coup's Genocide & Juice as well. The Coup are different from most other political hip-hop because they are so damn funky ;)

Aceyalone- All Balls Don't Bounce

FreestyIe Fellowship- Innercity Griots

These are 2 of my favorite albums, period.

Aceyalone definaltely doesn't get the props he deserves.
