So I've decided to buy this power supply:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

Before I go ahead and make the purchase, I have just one final question that I hope can be answered by someone. Is this psu compatible with my current Motherboard? I have a ASRock G31M-S mothorboard and I just want to double check that this psu will work with it. I can't seem to find a direct yes or no answer anywhere on the internet.

Cool thanks, that one actually looks very tempting. I think I need to open up my computer though and make sure it will fit in my medium size case. I have no idea what my current psu size is. I just know that by measuring the width of my case from the outside it is 7" wide.

Bang or BangSoraX64
Is this one pretty much exactly the same as the Corsair one you suggested but with 100 more watts? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006

I've seen other PSU's that are 800w and go for a cheaper price. Does that mean they are probably not very good quality or something like that?

Oh yeah one more thing. On my gtx 560 ti box it says the graphics card also needs a "minimum of 30 amps on the 12 volt rail". I have no idea what that means but thats what it says.

So I recently got a EVGA GTX 560 ti gpu and noticed that it requires a minimum of 500 watt power supply. 500 watts happens to be exactly what I currently have in my computer and its a fairly dated psu. I haven't had any issues at all but I figured it couldn't hurt to upgrade my psu just to be safe. Also, I hear the gtx 560 ti can overclock really well and safely so thats another reason why I would like to upgrade my psu. Any suggestions on what kind of psu I should get? My computer case is 7 inches wide so the psu itself needs to be a fairly standard size. I am willing to spend up to $100.00. Thanks for any help!

Ok, so I have Windows Vista 32 bit Business edition. I've my computer since 2009 and have made upgrades here and there such as just installing my Gtx 560 ti about 3 weeks ago and replacing my 2.0 dual core with a Q8300 2.5 Ghz quad core about 2 months ago. Recently about 3 days ago whenever I turn my computer on it boots up fine but then after the "Microsoft Corporation" screen where the green bar moves left to right, my screen just stays black for about 4 minutes before finally coming to the "Welcome" screen and then going to my desktop. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Could my PSU be any kind of issue? I wouldn't think so just cause I installed the Gtx 560 ti over 3 weeks ago and this problem as just started occuring about 3 days ago. Also, for whatever reason Internet Explorer 8 stopped working. As soon as I would open it up I would instantly get a "This program has stopped working" box. Not sure if the two are tied together or maybe it all has to do with some windows updates or something. Anyways, any help and advice would be much appreciated.

Heh, okay so I feel kinda dumb saying this but I figured out what I was getting this weird picture issues. I wasn't aware of it but I guess I had my monitor picture settings set to "dynamic contrast" and for response time I had it set to "Fastest". I realized it was a picture issue when today I booted Crysis up first thing after turning my computer on so everthing was as cool as can be and yet as soon as I loaded my game I immediately started seeing the picture issues. After changing my picture to custom settings and putting the response time on "normal" the picture issues immediately went away. I think I'm gonna try manually changing the fan to just constantly run at 70% when I'm playing games though cause I did notice the gpu temp's peaking out at like 79c-80c at some points during Crysis. Manually doing this to the fan settings isnt gonna risk messing anything up right?

[QUOTE="Hercules321"][QUOTE="04dcarraher"]Well theres a few things you can try before having to buy another psu. Your temps seem normal but Sometimes Crysis can have issues with video card drivers so make sure your running the lastest ones 266.58. Then I would download MSI afterburner to turn up your fan speed easily to see if it helps. Dont worry about it being MSI the program doesnot care what brand you have. Also to test to see if your card is stable is to download Furmark and run it for a good 20 minutes to see if your card and psu can handle the stress.04dcarraher
The EVGA Precision application also lets me manually change my fan speed. Would it be ok to use that instead of MSI afterburner? I have the most current driver as well which is 266.66. Maybe its just Crysis idk. Like Crypt_mx said above, I think I'm gonna try playing a different game like empire total war and just max out all the settings and play huge custom battles for like an hour and see if everything remains stable.

Evga precision works just fine too,

What would be a good fan percantage to manually move up to? Like 70% of the max fan speed or something?
