anyone at all, plan to pick up this game in the next couple hours so looking for opinions on competitive pc games, old or new

I just bought myself a gaming laptop and want to put it to work right away. I cant decide on which game I want first though. im looking for something that will keep me busy for awhile. i want something that has online and is very competitave, not repetitive, and will always be fun. im a fan of almost every game type(except racing/sports) so could use any ideas.
Anyone have any very good competitave games that they would recommened. I really want a game that has a competitive online community. Also no CoD4 or GoW, have them for 360
Its either all your suggestions or im stuck with Oblivion
I wasnt sure if this should go in the hardware section but since it dealt with more games figured it would go here. Sorry if it is in the wrong section.
I just bought a 500 gig external hardrive so I do not have to fill my laptop up with crap. I am planning on playing a lot of games so here is my question. Can i download games onto a home computer, note that the computer does not have the specs to play the game. So basically can i simply instal a game, not play, that my computer can not realistically play. if yes, this will lead to my second question.
If the first is ok, can i take that game, once downloaded on the home computer, transfer it onto the external harddrive, and then play it on the laptop without ever directly downloading it to the laptop? The reason i wish to do this is because i reallly dont want to fill my computer up with games and really want them on the external hardrive
I apologize if this is the wrong forum or the questions were confusing. If they were ill be happy to explain.
Yeah, Neverwinter Nights isn't an MMO, so out of the two, WoW wins by default.
I have to ask, though, why your son isn't decicing for himself? If he is at graduation age he can surely make his own decision? Is it meant to be a surprise or something?
mfsa
more or less yes, but he probabaly has chosen WoW by now if Neverwinter isnt an mmo, i probabaly miss understand him
My son recently got a very nice gaming laptop for his graduation. He is very into MMO's yet our computer was horrible and couldn't play them well. I want to get him one now and i know he is debating bewteen Neverwinter Nights and WoW.
Aside from the montly fees(which i do not mind paying), which one gameplay wise and content wise is overall better and more fun
Any opinions wanted
Got a quick and simple question that I could not find searching google.
What is the max ammount of characters, or close to it, that can be placed in my bio. I have a story that i wish to put in it. Its not long, yet dont know my limits.
Sorry if dumb question
basically short story short is that i have the opprotunity to grab a halo edition 360 for a very cheap. I personnaly am not a halo fan, yet the color scheme really appeals to me and dont see the harm in grabbing it.
Yet my question is does the halo edition have a good chance to get the RRoD or is it less than the others. I ask this in the sense of hearing that elites have a SIGNIFICANT less % chance of that happeneing. Does this go the same with halo 3 edition as well.
Basically in a nutshell, does the chance of RRoD decrease with a halo edition xbox vs a xbox pro(date past august of 07)
