As a veteran gamer, Sony will not hold to its word. I recall PSVita history, there was many studios shutdowns but Sony kept stating that PSVita is still a concern and then it simply vanished.

As for the PS4, marketing will motivate players to convert into neo as it's against production strategies to focus on an old products for too long...
