lol $60 for a new game. I can get 6 PS3 games for that much. Ah it's nice to have friends who work at Sony. :)

A good example is that Crysis is now in the making for the PS3 and the developers specifically said it won't be on the 360 for "technical reasons".

Right now it's the same. The 360 is still holding on but it has no more room for next-gen improvement, while the PS3 does. Soon as more intense games get released they will either release only for PS3 or the 360 version will have to be dumbed down a bit because of it's older hardware. The cell engine is a hard bug to code for but the dev's are getting better at it. The 360 has little to no more room left for improvement, graphics wise. So don't be surprised if the PS3 will start dominating the market in a year or two, much like the PS2 did for so many years. (with 120 million units sold worldwide)

It's much higher. I have 2 friends who had to send theirs in within 5 months of buying it. Then got replacements, which adds +2 to the "sales" charts for M$. PS3 has something of a 0.3% fail rate. And I believe that as my friend has had his PS2 since 2001 and it still works like a charm and I trust Sony puts the same quality build in all their consoles. The 360 is a good console, but because of it's horrible fault rate and no potential for next-gen gaming in the coming years, it will be dominated by the PS3 until the next XBOX releases and then we will see.

The PS3 has sold 10.49 million units according to Sony. And in their report, it specifically states that Sony now reports on recorded sales and not shipments.

retailers pay for their supply of systems.

and MS counts every 360 thats been replaced... big woop

huh?

HAHA M$ counts every replaced 360 as a "SALE" hah what cheaters. PWNED!

And to the guy who said Blu-Ray helped the PS3, it's the other way around, the PS3 helped Blu-Ray to win this stupid HD DVD war.

Also a typical response from 360 kiddies is that everyone already has a 360 so of course the PS3 is selling more now. But that's irrelevant. Very few people own both consoles. So those sales are based on a majority of people who don't own either of the two, then make a choice of which of the two to get, and this quarter more chose the PS3. The PS3 has a much much better potential for next-gen games for many many years to come so it's a better investment in the long run. All the 360 fans are saying 360 has such better games now etc but the PS3 users bought it for the future investment that it most definately will be. The 360 has hit a wall, we've basically seen all the 360 can do, it cannot and will not be able to produce games that are much more advanced that what's out right now unless M$ puts out a new system. Look at the PS2, M$ put out 2 consoles in the course of Sony's PS2 life cycle. And I can bet M$ will put out another XBOX while the PS3 will be fine for the next 7-10 years. THAT's why people are buying a PS3 right now.

Sony winning the war is bound to happen, i would say by mid 2010 they will have the lead over the 360. Probably by then MS will be putting out there new box. i was once a blind lil lemming until my hardware started acting up .Lo_Rising

The majority of analysts from the articles I read do infact predict that the PS3 will be dominant in the console industry at around that time, 2-3 years from now. Sony's consoles always last close to a decade and begin dominating at their half-life. The PS2 is the all-time hottest selling console ever, with over 120 million sold worldwide! Comparing to 360's 17 million and PS3's current 11 million. So it's no surprise if this happens again. Microsoft will try to compete but even thought the 360 is a good system, even though it has such a bad fault rate, the PS3 will most likely dominate in the future due to developers learning the Cell engine better and be able to do really insane things with it and the PS3's extremeley low failure rate.

Polls ARE a good source of research because it's first hand responses from the consumer. They have no reason to lie, whereas Microsoft does. Pulling the BS about their 4-5% fail rate is understandable to make their product look better. Microsoft has never been known to be a source of good products: Winblows, the 360 is a good console in terms of games but not faultiness wise and everything else they release is more or less bit from other people's ideas (AHEM APPLE) but they manage to make it crappier. But I have 2 friends who both had to send their 360's in on the count of the red circle thing within 5 months. PS3's have a failrate of something like 0.3% i heard. And I believe that as they sell their systems in 10 year life product cycles. My friend has had his PS2 since 2001 and it still works perfectly and never had any issues. GO SONY!

Anyone who bases their decision on whether to invest in a game or not from the judgement of ONE person on a gaming site is an idiot. Look at the average of multiple reviews. And if you MUST listen to only one person, go to IGN, their reviews are much more in-tune with the actual game. Gamespot is just plain crap at reviewing now all the guys there are idiots. The IGN reviewers are much more mature and review the game and score it based on the game itself, not on it's bugs, or technical annoyances.
