I bought the game day 1 and I really didn't enjoy it. I beat the single player and put it away. Then I came back to it about 1 month ago and I bought the RoS expansion, and it was a completely new game. They have added so much to the game and made all the right modifications to make the game far more enjoyable. And more importantly, the disconnection problems that plagued the game at launch are 100x better now (although I still hesitate to create Hardcore characters because there are times when i get D/C and die from that). Overall, when it first came out it was a decent passable game. Now its a great game. The PvP in the game right now is very barebones (and they even said they only put it in cause people wanted it so badly, and that if it were up to them they wouldnt have released it until they had gotten it to the point they want it to be) so I hope they improve on that. I appreciate them putting in the unfinished feature to placate the vocal fans, but that little taste makes me want a more fleshed out PvP experience and I hope we will get one soon.

I dont agree with the writer's assessment of the ending.

I never felt like Joel was a monster. He wasn't just killing the Doctors and what not for fun and just to spite humanity. He was doing it because he truly loved Ellie, and felt that her life was worth more than a cure. Whether or not it was the right choice is up to you, but I think its unfair to label him a monster. Also, I would have loved for the ending to be a choice. You could let Ellie die or you could fight to get her back. I think that would really raise up the emotional impact. By the end of the game, the player has grown to love Ellie (well at least I did), and has a real connection with her. It would have been a great move to give the player the choice of whether or not to let her die.

So you care more about production values and a menu screen than actual good fighting mechanics?

I think his point is that fighting mechanics are the most important things, but i little TLC in the non-gameplay elements would go a long way. Think of it this way, If you have a great director, they can usually take a pretty stupid concept of a movie and make it entertaining but at the end of the day, you would still be disappointed that the story was a bit irrelevant. With games, you could have amazing gameplay but a lackluster story, production values, etc... While the core game would be fun, the other neglected features can still negatively affect your gameplay experience.

Yawn

Does it play halo?

real question, is Halo still good? I stopped after playing Halo ODST. Hated that game. Halo CE is my favorite Halo game and one of my all time favorites, Halo 2 I hated, 3 was ok. I dont have an Xbone, but if the trend of Halo games is improving, I may consider investing in it. Some good games on it already, but Halo 5 would be the game that seals the deal

What straight up did:

Sim City 2013

The Sims 4

What NEARLY did:

Zelda: Twilight Princess

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja 4

Metal Gear Solid 2 (this was my first Metal Gear too, thankfully MGS3 was what I played next)

I have to agree with this 100%. In fact I hated this game so much that it was the last Zelda game I ever played, and I was a huge fan! After TP, anytime I thought about buying a Zelda game I said to myself "man...what if it turns out to be another TP? screw it, im skipping it."

But back on topic, I've always been a "casual" fan of the Elder Scrolls games. Some people take it to the next level and know all the lore and what not, I just sort of buy the games, enjoy the exploration and freedom, and do all the side quests, but I usually quit playing before I beat the game, because I really don't care for the main stories. That being said, I do believe that TESO may have left a bad taste in the mouths of a lot of people. I sure as hell aint touching it and will wait til the next single player TES game is released.

The term E-Sport is so damn oxymoronic. It's a competition, not a sport. My little tangental rant aside, I do enjoy SMITE on PC and I always thought that it would make a great console game. Dunno how the console version will do on the professional scene, but I imagine it would be a lot of fun just for the average gamer. Hope it comes to PS4 at some point in time. Yeah, sure I play it on PC, but would love to give it a go on consoles too.
