"loud angry music" reflects an ineptitude of ones ability to deal with ones own personal life issues, so they use such music to vent their anger and dissatisfaction with life in a superficial manner. Come on, argue this point...burpysmurph

It's not very fair to generalize like that, I'm 20 and I still listen to Metal. I don't like it because it's angry, or badass, or satanic, or whatever, I'm past that stage of wanting to fit in and I'm actually very happy with my life, I'm not an angsty teenager anymore, and I listen to Metal no matter what mood I'm in. I never even liked any of the more "brutal" stuff out there, I mainly listen to Melodic/Symphonic Metal, and I like it because it's some of the most complex popular music out there, a lot more thought and talent goes into it than your average pop song. I don't even know what the lyrics for half of the stuff I listen to are, all that matters to me is that the actual music sounds good.
