[QUOTE="IamLevel1"][QUOTE="NoRussian"]That's the most enormous piece of fail I encountered today. Why wouldn't we want next gen?NoRussian
Because current games suck. See MW2. Next-gen games will fail even more, high dev costs = no originality.

MW2 is the best military game of all time, and the greatest shooter of the year - no rivalry. You're just sad because no one plays your favourite game, because every gamer is busy playing MW2 at the moment. ;) Hell, the PS3 version outsold Killzone 2's and Uncharted 2's total sales in juts 5 days.

Best military game? That's like picking the smartest kid on the short bus.

[QUOTE="enterawesome"]I thought No Russian was unneccasary and a blind grab from IW for attention towards their game from the media. It would have made a much better cinematic.NoRussian
Did you even play the game? It's the reason for the Russian invasion.

The mission was terrible so it's not surprising if he didn't play it.

What's so good about that mission? You can do the same thing in GTA games and more.

[QUOTE="Free_Marxet"][QUOTE="danwallacefan"]Eh, you didn't quite answer my question. Hell, your post was entirely irrelevant. Why, given that past experience can't prove the uniformity of nature, is inductive inference justified?

danwallacefan

You said if the laws of nature changed. how is it not relevant to say that the change in laws are observable? Do you know what relevant means?

No no no, you need to read my post again because you missed the point entirely. How is it that we know that the laws of nature will not change? If we dont know, then we can't do science.

Given the laws of our universe, 1+1=2 always.

[QUOTE="CommonFable"][QUOTE="IamLevel1"][QUOTE="CommonFable"] I find faith, assurance, and confidence to have some of the same meanings. Not synonyms but definitley closely related. Wouldn't you say so?

Yes they are similar. But if either Faith, assurance or confidence have no logical basis to support them then they are essentially nonsensical and pointless.

I'd have to agree, but I hope you mean some logic and not all logic. Because only using logic too can be pointless without other things.

As long there is enough logical basis then that is fine. It is understandable that there are many other factors to take into consideration but I consider logic to be the most important part.

[QUOTE="IamLevel1"][QUOTE="CommonFable"] Are you sure it's well made?CommonFable

if it's not well-made then I would worry and I would not jump. I arrived to that conclusion through reasoning. What would be completely stupid is that you still jump because you have faith god will protect you while the cord is not well-made.

Did I say faith in God? No i did not. I meant faith in the chord. And i also never said it wasn't well made.

Hmm you've got me there, so without any prior knowledge of it being well-made or not, I would probably do some research beforehand since I am risking my life afterall. Anyways it's not about faith more so than assurance and confidence in the cord and it's manufacturers. Faith is believing in or having assurance/confidence in something without and logical reasoning.

[QUOTE="CommonFable"] Are you sure it's not needed? When you go bungie jumping, you have to have faith in the chord or you may be too scared to go. No matter how many people tell you the science or the facts you may never face the fear.CommonFable

you can also observe that the bungie chord is well made, with no faith needed.
