You guys have got to be kidding? I bought the GC at launch and couldnt wait to play the thing. I played it about an hour and had to hand it off to my kids. I absolutely hadted the controller. 2 different toggles, crazy shapped buttons...Just horrible in my opinion.

Everyone cried about the XBOX controller when it launched but I loved it just fine. Large yes...but way better than any GC controller..

WORST controller of the last 20 years goes to DreamCast. Good system, bad controller...It had some good features with the addon screen and such...but horrible..

FunkyHeadHunter

but seriously, i have long lanky fingers, xbox controller was fine for me personally... but only me... cant believe they used a test group to get that controller, next time theyll learn not to trust randoms.

GC fits perfectly, could use a few upgrades, shoulder buttons were perfect part from the fact you had to push them down well, the pattern on the main analog is annoying and the other analog didnt cut it at all

aussies, kiwis, and others get ripped off

1. Link

2. Gordon Freeman

3. Mario

4. Samus

5. Duke Nukem

Those who didn't make the list:

Kratos - More of an anti-hero. While a cool character, it is hard to include him in an heroes list.

Solid Snake - Just missed out, while being the main character/hero in many of the Metal Gear games, he isn't all the time.

Basically the heroes above are based on their iconic nature as heroes, and being heroes (having to save princess/the world/etc) in every game, and about how they do it.

Most games either have new characters every game to be the heroes (one good example is Final Fantasy) or just aren't as big or cool as the characters above. Might be forgetten one or two, but I think that is the top five anyway... Commander Keen is also a nice hero but hasn't made an appearence for a long time.

Started watching Kane again, can honestly say it rocks. Just because it doesn't have a catchy tune every few minutes or lots of explosions... or as family guy put it... no boobs

Make more exclusive games?

zarshack

nooo, i want pc releases

goldeneye 007 remake....all the lems would crap their pantsReaperV7

NintenNO. from my understanding, while nintendo of course has rights with it (like ms does), nintendo also helped make it with rare. 007 is dated anyway, even though i wouldnt say no to an online version.

[QUOTE="Ninten007"]

I am tired of these lame BC complaints. If you want to play PS2 games, get a PS2. If you wanna play NES games, get a NES, If you wanna play 64 games, get a 64.

The past generations had no BC and no one really cared. They just kept their old systems and played them when they felt like it. Also they got a new system to play the latest new upcoming games.

Ninten007

Wrong. The PS2 had full PS1 backwards compatibility. Obviously there couldn't have been BC on the GC because it's Nintendo's first disc format and XBOX being Microsoft's starter console. This gen however the Wii has it spot on, 100% backwards compatibility with ALL GC titles plus older gen games being made downloadable. People want it, therefore they will complain for it.

I know the PS2 was the first one ot do BC.

My point is back in the day people didnt moan about the SNES having BC with the NES, and the 64 having BC with both the NES and SNES. You kept your old consoles and played them when you wanted but at the same time played the new upcoming games.

Yea the Wii has BC spot on because it is basically a Cube. The VC should not count as BC because you download them, not like you can pop in your old carts and start playing.

Complaning about BC is lame.

The 360 has limited BC so why isnt no one complaing about not being able to play 100% of all Xbox titles?

BC had been done for years before PS2. Atari anyone? Gameboy to a lesser extent. Either way, with CD/DVD it was easy for Sony to do it, so backwards coming with the PS2 is only natural considering the format.

Either way, I've always been a PC gamer, so BC is important for me on consoles which I never played. Same with all these other new players coming up. Of course, many of the best PS2 games can be quite hard to get a hold of. My sister brought a PS2 for singstar so I'm hooked up anyway.

I don't think it will make too much of a difference. I play wireless all the time. When I go wired I don't see any major changes.

Furi-Kun
