I know that I've been lazy on posting blogs, but I just came up with a "new" idea (I'm sure I've done this before). Here's a list of my most beloved and hated characters of all-time. I'll have spoiler sections for some of them.
Most Beloved:
Auron - Final Fantasy X
I don't think it's a surprise to anyone who knows me that Auron's at the top of my list, so I won't go into too much detail. He's just the ultimate, the master of his realm. Easily the most intelligent character in the game, the most talented, and very quick on his feet considering his age, not to mention the most badass.
Kohaku - Tsukihime
Oh, Kohaku. Where do I even begin? Never before have I seen a character come to life in such a way as the cast of Tsukihime. The fact that I have feelings for a video game character proves how insanely detailed Tsukihime really is. Kohaku has one of, if not the, saddest past(s) of any character to ever be created. Although she's got that seemingly eternal smile, she's dangerously intelligent, and has some just desserts planned.
Yuna - Final Fantasy X
Yuna is truly something special. As one of the most selfless characters (who actually isn't annoying at all) I've ever encountered, she stands out even more. Quite possibly the most powerful (not necessarily in terms of strength, although she is) female character in anything I've ever seen. She's a determined, self-sacrificing Summoner, who's willing to give everything up for the sometimes ungrateful people of Spira. Yuna, although often times overly serious, eventually finds a sense of humor as the Pilgrimage goes on. She definitely knows what she wants, and as time passes, decides to do some things for herself, as opposed to always putting others first.
Vivi - Final Fantasy IX
Quite the mage, if I do say so myself. In fact, I'd go so far as to say the greatest Black Mage of all-time. This little guy struggles with many things over the course of the game, which present his main problems in the story, and must come to grips with. As one of the only unique (real) Black Mages (screw you, Lulu), Vivi provides one of, if not the, best characters in FFIX. Size definitely doesn't keep him down, as Vivi is capable of learning immensely powerful spells, but not until he grows from the most basic of magic way back starting in the beginning of Alexandria. One of the easiest characters to achieve every technique for, and with solid stats, one of the first able to hit the damage limit.
Dante - Devil May Cry 3
Oh yes, Dante. The badass of all badasses. Not only is he ridiculously talented, but he's hilarious as well! Almost everything Dante does is funny on multiple levels because of either A. How cocky he can get away with being, B. The jokes he can pull off in the most serious of situations, or C. A combination of the two. As a son of Sparda, the half-demon Dante is a force to be reckoned with. Making the impossible second nature, Dante is the definition of a one-man army. Taking into consideration the fact that he has Devil Trigger, he's honestly a demi-God, shaming his opposition 95% of the time, looking unbelievable while doing it. The master of $tyle, and should make anyone who claims DMC3 difficult realize their ignorance.
Sephiroth - Final Fantasy VII
Sephiroth. Doesn't the name just strike darkness and evil in your mind? Sephiroth is one of the best villains of all-time. While not the same as my "Most Hated" below in the sense that he isn't a deplorable, sad excuse for a living creature, Seph. is one of the best challenges in any story, not in terms of difficulty, but as an opponent. Going up against Sephiroth is a pure adrenaline boost. Think of all he has access to: all of his fighting skills, including Masamune, uncomprehendably powerful Materia, relations to Jenova, the ability to control Cloud, and an overall divine presence, not to mention Meteor (goes along with Materia). The end of the first disc is just the icing on the cake that this guy is serious.
Hitsugaya - Bleach
My personal favorite Soul Reaper, Captain of Squad 10, Toshiro Hitsugaya is the youngest, as well as one of the most talented and intelligent Shinigami in the entire Soul Society. At his best, Hitsugaya is easily capable of defeating his opponents, however, his age and naivetyoften cloud his otherwise level-head; his only weakness. Wielding an amazing ice Zanpakuto also helps.
Ichigo - Bleach
Ichigo is a self-righteous teenager who doesn't let others stand in his way. With his friends, training, determination, and Zangetsu, Ichigo takes down Captains left and right during the best part of Bleach thus far (English dubs). Even in the midst of all his action, he manages to be a rather funny person to listen to.
Zaraki - Bleach
Zaraki, oh yes. Kenpachi Zaraki, Captain of Squad 11, is the physically strongest Captain to ever grace the Soul Society. This can be observed as he doesn't even know his Zanpakuto's name, thus can't release his Shikai or Bankai, yet is still a Captain, better than most who can, in fact. Zaraki is so powerful, that he actually causes my friends and I to laugh along with his fights rather than focus on if he's going to win.
Lelouch - Code Geass
Lelouch, one of the most brilliant characters in anime, is a very likeable guy. With a righteous goal and the powers to carry it out, it's easy to get behind and support Lelouch.
Most Hated Characters:
Makihisa - Tsukihime
Makihisa... I won't go into detail for sake of those who've yet to play Tsukihime, but what he did is unforgivable. Regardless of the circumstances, his actions are the epitome of all bastard actions. Since I don't wanna depress anyone kind enough to read this, I digress.
Roa - Tsukihime
Another easy character to hate from Tsukihime, Roa is rather frustrating. At least Roa gets what's coming to him (although different in each story), unlike Makihisa. The worst part of Roa does is that he's in total control of himself- bastard...
Aizen - Bleach
Yet another bastard I can't fully divulge the hatred I have for, for sake of those yet to watch much Bleach. Aizen's deplorable actions truly get to me. At leasthe waspersistent (more than I can say for the previous two). I can't wait to see him taste his karma when the dubs finally get to the Arrancar saga!
Rollo - Code Geass
Rollo was just doing what he felt was right in episode 13 of R2, but he was drastically mistaken. Although part of me feels sorry for him, I can't wait to see him feel extreme pain (hopefully) later in the show.
Mao - Code Geass
A sad, pathetic excuse for a lover, Mao lost himself long ago due to his Geass. It's easy to hate Mao, yet easy to feel sorry for him. In his last episode in the show, he gets pwned in such a fashion that I was brought to tears, so he's more off the hook than the rest of these bastards.
