As far as I know, Odin Sphere doesn't use any 3D graphics whatsoever. Not in the backgrounds, not in the effects -- none at all. All character models(sprites, that is) and backgrounds are hand-drawn, and the lighting effects aren't in 3D either.
The new dude in charge sounds a lot better than the previous ones though. He has experience with video games(he directed a trailer for Dead Space), he has brought back the whip, and his vision doesn't sound bad.
The story seems great. In fact, everything seems great. It just isn't Castlevania, and that's the problem. If they hadn't put 'Castlevania' in the title I would have been incredibly excited, but calling this Castlevania is just ridiculous. It doesn't even have candles, for Belmont's sake! I can only hope that the fact that this is a 3D game increases the chance of IGA making a 2D game. The looks of Odin Sphere with the gameplay, music and overall 'feel' of Castlevania... that would be an unbeatable combination.
No candles? No teleport rooms(which probably means no exploration)? I also think it's safe to assume that neither Ayami nor Michiru will be involved in this(or that Masaki guy).

I mean, think about it. People want to play Wii, but actually playing a Wii is pretty exhausting. However, with a Wii game about playing the Wii, they could get the full Wii experience in their living room. It'd be just like playing a real Wii!

wow that could be the greatest game ever made surely it is one of the great creations of our time For sure. I hope this trend continues - think of all the possibilities! "Let's Take The Bus", "Wii Shop For Groceries", or maybe even "Wii Couch Potato"! This is gonna be the best generation EVAR!!!
