GameFly is TERRIBLE! Warning: Do NOT subscribe to GameFly.
I had a pretty bad business experience with GameFly.
When I first purchased an account, I got my first game right away. That was really cool, and I was pleased to see that the nearest shipping hub was in Inglewood, California (since I live in Culver City and Inglewood is only about 10 minutes drive away).
But after that, the turn around time slowed down. It took 2 weeks for them to recieve my game after I had mailed it back, and another week to recieve the game after I got the e-mail notification saying they shipped it. Seriously, it took nearly a MONTH to recieve my next game from a place that was only 10 minutes away from me. And these weren't new titles. I was renting older games on the PS2 and GameCube. Finally, I canclled my account because their service was so slow.
A few months later, I decided to join up again. I figured, maybe the first time they were still pretty new and not have their process effecient just yet. I was wrong. They still took nearly a MONTH just to recieve my next game. I was paying 20 dollars a month just to play one friggin game? The last 2 games I had out, Metroid Prime and Katamari, I returned the day after Thanksgiving. Nov. 27. They NEVER recieved the game. I cancelled my account with them in Janurary because I was being charged $20 a month and I didn't have ANY games rented out. They threatened to charge me $50 for Metroid Prime and Katamari that I "didn't return." F--- that! If I wanted to keep those games I would have walked to EBX across the street and get them for $6 each!
GameFly is a total rip off. It blows so bad. DO NOT subscribe to them.
