I think it should be free. What do we get from xbox live other than overpriced DLC? Oh we get a friends list, isn't that nice? Considering PC's and PS3's and Wii's do that for free. Oh and I hope one day they will allow companies to use their own servers so we don't have a terrible host advantage in every game we play over live. I'd rather have 1 more game a year then pay 50 dollars to play a bunch of games online I can play on my PC which will run them better anyways. I dunno just seems stupid to charge for their online service.highvolts12

don't forget free demos for just about every game with an upcoming release, even online demos (remember lost planet's). Also arcade which is great for kids or someone looking to play a classic game for 10 minutes or so. And the fact that you can access all of your friends list/recent players/ messages at ANY time during ANY game, while opening up personal voice chats with friends!

they cost $400 or $500 if you get the premium and you don't need to go buy the charge kit, wireless adapter and they all come with a harddrive and a new format player so its cheaper really, plus 50 bucks a year adds up, i wish it was more like sonys since they have dedicated servers for all their games, it runs wayyyy smoother and they dont have to pay 50 bucks just for a nice interface

Doesn't it more or less depend on the game? Well I mean games like Halo 3/ Call of Duty 4, you'll see lag maybe 1/75 games (estimate). But others have lag a lot more often.
