I didn't know this oculd happen on orginal...what should I do?

Story: was playing Morrowind GOTY, and it was having trouble saving - would freeze. After third reboot, I hear clicking, scrren comes up that says contact support (in6 languages, FWIW). X-box website is useless - no live account, second hand console, probably never registered. Anger. deep, penetrating anger. before I gut my x-box, some rational advice would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

The novelty drinking in bars when I was sixteen without getting carded ended when the monotony of shaving every day became a routine. My five o'clock shadow shows up by lunchtime, and in about a week's time I can grow a passable beard. I also have some seriously thick follicles that I often have to pluck prior to shaving lest they clog my Norelco. Not that I'd trade my gruff for a smooth baby-face, but you might as well enjoy the convenience while it lasts.

Now, the only advice I have to offer, if you really want it, is something that apparently worked for a buddy of mine. He is the product of long lines of smoothies on both sides of his family tree, but he attributes his mountain man looks to a combination of things like working construction, getting into bar fights, frequent sex, and a general bad attitude/alpha male complex. In other words, he hacked his genetics by increasing his testosterone. Whether there's any truth to his claim or not, the medical community has yet to determine, but there it is. I told him the trend could reverse at some point, and his body chemistry will suddenly shift the other way to compensate, leaving him with soft skin and ample bosom. He nearly decked me.

Yes/no. In fact, I would be quite astonished if anyone on this forum could pinpoint the derivative of this avatar.

Does it seriously never occur to people that animals act on instinct?

If the public (and by public, I mean the credit-card indebted American consumer) was really concerned about the environment, they would be down at the junkyard looking to buy a vehicle, not the showroom. Nobody wants to drive anything more than 50k miles anymore, so in five years you can expect to see a lot - A LOT - of used "green" cars going really cheap. Buying a hybrid sounds good in theory, but these vehicles undergo the same highly toxic manufacturing processes as their gas-guzzling counterparts. Don't be fooled - cutting down on oil consumption and emissions even for millions of commuters isn't going to amount to anything when the factories are still pumping the cars out to meet demand.

If you want to be "green", buy a Ford Tempo for $50 and drive it until it dies completely. Then, patch the rust until it's legal in your state and fit it with a hybrid engine. Repeat as necessary.

As a food scientist, I have to say no.

However, in my personal life, I would say yes it is ok to use it FOR THAT SAME DAY ONLY. When you take what you need, throw it out.

Do not, by any means, wrap it back up and refrigerate it. Microorganisms can infest hamburger meat if left out in a day, but the damage they do will be minimal. That is why it would be OK to use it that same day.

However, if you wrap it up and put it back in the fridge the microorganisms on the meat will continue to grow and the meat will spoil quickly. Freezing will stop microbial growth, but wont actually kill most of the microbes, so it will continue to spoil the second you take it out to defrost it.

When I cook meat, I intentionally leave it out to bring it to room temperative. When I make chicken, for example, I put my rub on and let it sit at room temperature for four or so hours. This way, the difference in temperature between the grill and the meet is less than the difference between cold meat and grill. This leads to faster cooking time (internal temp comes up faster) meaning the outside of the chicken doesnt dry out as much. In addition, the pores of the chicken open more when its room temperature, leading to more flavor soaking in. Mmmm mmm mm
