Fighitng games: I'm a big fan of fighting games and 99.9% of the good ones are coming out for the 360/PS3 ie DOA4/5(itagaki already said it's in the works), VF5 (great fighting game), Tekken 6(great group fighter).. Oh and if I want to DL some old school fighters like MKU or SFII I can play them online with hundreds of others gamers..

so riddle me this... what does the wii have in this category?

Action/Adventure games: I'm a big fan of A/A games such as DMC, NG ect.. I'm getting DMC4 when it comes out and I'll getting NG2 when it comes out next year *crosses fingers* Heavenly sword and Too Human both have potential to be great games..

Shooters: Probably my fav genre at the moment.. The 360 was practically built for these as 50% of my library consists of shooters ie Lost Planet, PDZ, GRAW, Gears ect.. And with Bioshock, UT3 and Halo 3 coming out they'll be little need for another system.

I'm kinda partial to Racers and RPG's but with Blue dragon hitting this summer and Forza 2 hitting next month I should get my fill... But feel free to jump in there and offer up some wii titles in those categories...

Remember, the Wii is still in its infancy. Lots of those games you mentioned didn't come out within the 1st 6 months of the 360. But to answer your question:

Fighting: DragonBallZ, Mortal Kombat (coming soon)

Action/Adenture: Nintendo always has a lot of these in 1st party, (zelda, mario, dragon quest, Fire Emblem, etc.) but it will be 3rd party devs that will round out the genre. Right now, Zelda satisfies me.

Shooters: you already mentioned MP, so I won't. Unfortunatley, shooters on the Wii suck. But I didn't buy a Wii for that

Party games/family friendly: It's in THIS category (which you didn't mention) that the Wii shines. Some people don't consider this important, but I do. I like having a dozen people over to play the Wii. Everyone has fun. Everyone can play it. If I can even THINK of a dozen 360 or PS3 owners who would agree on the same game, the night would degenerate into name-calling and game-swapping. Not for me. I had enough of that with Halo 2 on the XBOX.

That's where it gets too casual for me.I don't like having a lot of people around my systems, because most of them don't exactly know how to work the system, and I don't want any accidentals. Also, Dragonball Z sucks, and Mortal Kombat doesn't compare to Virtua Fighter, Tekken, or even Dead or Alive 4. Also, isn't Fire Emblem an RPG, not action/adventure? Me and my friends can have a lot of fun out of Sports games like NBA 2k7, because you can have more than one person on a team.

Actually, the exact opposite is true. Anyone can pick up and be competent at Wii bowling in about 3 minutes. Almost anyone can know "how to work the system" in a very short amount of time. And as for casual, you have to revamp your opinion on what is "casual". The Wii-mote is amazingly sensitive and accurate, and on games like Tiger Woods golf, you need to be precise. Same thing with SSX:Blur.

And for DBZ sucking? Hmmm. Lots of people liked it. I liked it because of the control scheme. 'Fighting game' is not a good genre to fight (*ahem*) over. I could say quite easily that Tekken and Virtua Fighter 5 suck, but that's because I'm a DOA fan.

Well, I happen to be cautious around expensive things that I own. (A friend once got angry and decided to throw the controller, fortunately it was fine, but still...)

On my 360, my friends are always asking "What button do I press!?", and I have to baby them through everything.

I pretty much consider the Wii in general, casual. Most of the games are party games, and just doesn't interest me.

I've heard many things that the Wii isn't always accurate (FPS), and when I played Excite Truck at the store, it didn't pick up my turning very well.

I've never been a fan of DBZ, so I could care less for any of its titles. I like anime, but DBZ is a no no. I'm cool with any of the fighting games except DBZ or any other crap anime fighters/movie fighters and the like. Virtua Fighter and Tekken are fun imo.

Fire Emblem Series, SSBM, HL2 (CS:S DoD), Enemy Territory, JK:II, Jedi Academy, Crackdown (this may be a stretch, but I'm addicted to it), Golden Sun, RE4, and some Loony Tunes game for the Sega Genesis.

I've heard some stuff, but what annoys me, is that most casuals I talk to think that they are right... Like they have no clue what they are talking about, but they still insist that they are correct, and that you must be an idiot. :?

[QUOTE="deangallop"]

I have a wii, and almost regret it, it has nothing I enjoy (wii sports and probably Paper mario when it comes out are the games I enjoy)

What I want to know is what it takes for a cow or sheep to buy a 360, it has awesome games, awesome online, and a decent price point, a a very promising upcoming lineup.

karicha9

The thing keeping me from a 360 is the hardware reliability.

I was kind of afraid of that too, but I got a deal at EB where I got a free game (GRAW), and a free 1 yr replacement plan. That made me feel better in case I get a flawed system.

To me, the Wii just isn't worth $250 for motion sensor control. It doesn't really justify $250 so far. That may change in the future, but right now there is no need (in my opinion) to own one right now.

I read your review, and it sucked. You barely explained why you hated the game, just stated that it was boring and that the gameplay sucked. It's too bad you can't recognize a fun game... :|
