Just wondering, it seems that just sometimes my controller flashes green on two sides sometimes. They're always across from eachother and it switches from top left and bottom right to the top right and bottom left. Is this normal, because I haven't noticed it before. Was I just not paying attention? :P Or, is this foreshadowing a possible machinery failure? Thanks...

[QUOTE="Moon_of_Majora"]That's the one thing I hate about the Wiimote -- the batteries. It stinks to get that message that the battery power is low right in the middle of a boss battle. T_T Fandango_Letho
It stinks? no. It's inexcuseable.

I guess... However you can always buy rechargable batteries.

I am disappointed that GS allowed Jeff to review the game. I saw the Wii marathon and this guy wasn't intrested in the Wii at all so why let him review Wii games. Giving TP an 8.8 because of the Graphics and music. The soundtrack for this game is good I have heard half of the music for this game. As far as the Graphics go, don't forget Jeff Graphics don't make a game (remember the GTA series it is a good series but verry terrible Graphics but that didn't stop you guys at GS from giving San Andreas a 9.6 so don't give me any of this outdated graphics BG!!!). I will still come to this site but as far as getting Wii reviews I will turn to Matt and IGN to get some decent and fair reviews.nintendude01

Can someone link me to the Wii marathon vid?

You've got that Yggdra game, and the Final Fantasies to look forward to. That's it.

I'd say the first two generations of the Pokemon series were the best (Blue/ Red and Gold/ Silver).

Blue/ Red will always hold a special place in my heart.  Back then, I was a young lad of 14 or 15, and still in elementary school.  With the release of Blue/ Red, I became a certifable Pokefreak.  I began to wear Pokemon t-shirts.  Began to collect the cards.  Played the games like no tomorrow.

I took many bullets in the way of words and reputation for this Pokelove, however.  But I knew what I loved and stood beside it.

To this day, whenver I pop in my old, used copy of Blue, I get that nostalgiac hungering in me which is one of the great things about being a gamer.  I remember fondly many things about this game, such as the Missing No., or the trick where you could get Rare Candies easily and easily level up your Pokemon.  Or the fact that this was the only Pokemon game where I actually caught 'em all.

Gold/ Silver were another great iteration of the series because, while sticking to the roots, it added on.  New Pokemon were added, an entire new region was created (you could even venture into the old one later on, too).  It had that radio you could listen to, there was actually a in-game clock you set, and time passed from day to night.  There were the legendary dog Pokemon, such as Entei, which were hard as hell to encounter, but awesome as hell to have.

The later iterations of the series, thus far, have been clones of Gold/ Silver.  In each new iteration following Gold/ Silver, new Pokemon have been added, and a few new things have been added.  But overall the Pokeformula that Nintendo has stood on all these years is slowly getting old.  These newer games, such as Ruby or Emerald, are still damn great games, but as you play them, you can't help but realize the experience is getting less involved for you as a gamer each time.

It's similiar to the RE series in a vague kind of way.  The Resident Evil series began with the first game, and back then the game was startlingly new, and started a whole new genre - survival horror.  At its root, survival horror was a branch-off of action-adventure games, such as Tomb Raider.  But RE was so much more, too.  Then RE 2 came out, and it was much of the same game - and on and on, in a flurry of games, until Resident Evil 4 was released, which was an entirely new revisioning of the series and breathed much-needed new life into it.

Pokemon, then, is at its root an RPG, but, like the RE series, it is much more than just that.  Instead of having a set party of travelers who stay mostly the same throughout your entire outing with them, you're able to catch critters who can evolve, and (in later iterations of the series) mate.  Add to this the mechanic of being able to battle others, of trying to catch 'em all, and the child-like charm that's become the series' norm, and you get an interesting branch-off from a typical RPG.

What Pokemon needs, then, is its own Resident Evil 4 - its own new revisioning of itself.  Perhaps it's too earliy for something like that, though.  I must say that the series has not yet fallen into the pothole that the RE series did.  But it's certianly getting there, and with each new iteration of the series, I can't help but hope that an RE 4-like revisioning of the series will happen.

You were still in Elementary School when you were 14? Anyway, I agree with you for the most part. Though, even if they decide to follow into the same old Pokemon formula, people will buy it. I don't think they will ever fall into a pot hole, because they have too big of a fan support, through their show and the games. Though, I too, hope they can bring some new life into Diamond/Pearl for the DS. There will be online play, which will be a big bonus, and a whole new world to explore. So, my hopes are high for that, I just hope they deliver.

Definately Gold and Silver. R/B/Y was an amazing start to what is a great RPG series, but Gold and Silver just took all the greatness from the original ones and completely stepped it up. The gameplay was amazing, not much difference in the graphics, but there was color. Ruby/Sapphire were refreshing, with new, updated graphics, but the gameplay was not as exciting. Fire Red/Leaf Green lets you relive old memories, but it's not quite what it used to be. On a rating scale, I'd rate R/B/Y: 8.9     G/S/: 9.1     Ruby/Sapphire: 8.4    Fr/Lg: 8.5
All great games, but G/S was the best. :)

[QUOTE="volumesoxxs"]

its ok man, just think of it as an Opportunity to buy a ds lite, you'll have a sleek new system and you still have mario kart and animal crossing right? think when you get a lite or a new ds its gonna feel even more awsome playing em.

well, the games are a loss, especially FF, I suggest playing the GC remake of RE, it blows RE DS away, even if you already beat it, just go for it again.

yeah, people are stupid, seriously. sometimes they just steal to steal, or to make a quick buck, its just ignorance...they always get it in the end. who knows, maybe something good will come your way.

though it is awfully hard to make up for that FF... oh well, chin up man, dont lets some punk ruin things for ya.

Seriously FF is like priceless moments that cant be returned but im hoping karma comes my way...

Heh, maybe you should be like on My Name is Earl and make a list of all the bad things you've done in your life, then karma will come your way and you'll get your DS back. :) Anyway, that sucks, obviously, but keep looking at school, and if you can't find it, well...I guess you can always get a Lite. :?
