Thank you very much. I had mentioned it to my co-worker as well. he believes that there might be something stuck in there to keep it from closing. I am pleased with getting an external because i figure if that ever breaks, all i would need is to plug another one in.

According to my HP computer manual. Due to the small computer size, you can only install an optical disc drive of les than the approximate length of 6.7 The drive has a length about 8.5 in.

Since i ended up buying a slim external for about $40 . Should i crack open my pc and pull the power from the internal drive or would disabling it in the device manager be sufficient.

Because i have such a small case on my pc. I didn't want to worry about things not fitting . I found an external for $40.

Also, Do you think a virus could have caused the issue?

This morning when i was using my pc, the tray on the dvd burner opened by itself. When i pushed the tray back in, it came back out again. This happened several times before i rebooted. After the pc rebooted. I put a dvd in the drive. The tray opened back up and the drive was making all kinds of loud noises . Does anyone know what could cause this.

I wasn't going to renew due to the costs, but I can't pass up the $30 price. Great bargain.

I have very few PS 3 games. and what i do have i can sell. If i really need to play it , i will rent the 360 version. I will probably just buy a PS 2 to play the bulk of my collection

My PS 3 has been having problems lately. It has been locking up and when i restart it, I get green splotches on the screeen. From what i am told, the GPU on the PS 3 is failing. I have a 60 gig model. Do you think it is worth getting fixed?
