TIme to get down to business!

I'm buckling down yet again by trying to finish games that I haven't finished. I removed the stack of game cases from the top of my computer moniter, put them back on the shelf, then removed three games that I still need to beat. They are(in chronological order):

1. Persona 3: FES; I'm locking down to finally put this one away. I'm hoping to get it done within the next week, baring any unforeseen circumstances.

2. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne; I had played about 30 minutes of it before setting it aside to try another new game, which probably then took all of my attention. This time I plan on going in deep and not stopping. ....I feel dirty now.

3. Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless Army; I really want to finish this one, especially now that I learned they are bringing the sequel over here, which I didn't think they would do. I gotta beat this one so that I can get that one!

So that's my gaming plans for now.

Working nights, though fun in that I don't have to f**k with idiots who come in the store, is starting to get me down. my sleeping is all off track, with days that I get enough sleep and days where I don't get any at all. I think when it starts to get about halfway through April, I'm going to see if I can be transferred to days, and if possible after that, to another grocery store that is closer to where I live. I really would like to be able to walk to work in the summer, and that's not really possible right now. But first on the list is getting switched to days. That really needs to happen. I'll just suffer through it for the next month.

hmmm.... that seems to be enough

Same old, same old.

Not much new to really talk about. Haven't really done anything new game-wise or anything. Since I don't have any new shows or movies to watch, I've kind of been rewatching season 3 of Veronica Mars. I've seen it a lot before, but it's been quite a while since I've last watched it, and it's seeming fresh again. So that's fun.

Mostly I've been spending time out doing some stuff with some friends of mine, seeing local bands from here in Lawrence and stuff like that. It's good fun I guess. And I've been working a lot. So there's that.

Did I mention my short film in the last post? Whatever. F**k it, I'll repeat myself if I did. So I wrote this short film, and I'm hoping to get some of my friends together pretty soon so that we can make it. It's set in a hotel room, so that should probably be the only cost to make the film, since I already have the camera and the actors are my friends who aren't going to be paid.(I hope they don't think they are. If they do I'll have to set those motherf**kers straight).

The movie's going to be insane low budget(crappy looking). I'm not even using an actual camera meant for making movies. I'm using a piece of sh*t Sony Handicam that my parents bought almost 6 or 7 years ago for personal home movies. So yeah. But the story is so simple, I think that it wil work. The hard part is going to be the editing. or rather, the lack of editing. I don't have the materials to hook the camera up to my computer, so digitally editing is out. I could hook it up to a vcr and edit it on that, but who the f**k uses vhs tapes anymore? So I'm simply going to shoot it all, in sequence, and let it stand like that. It'll be rough! But whatever. Good fun.

Anyways, that seems to be enough for now.

Long time no write.

It's been a long time since I've written anything. It seems not having internet at my house and working nights has completely cut my off from the internet world. hopefully this wont be the only thing I write for another month like last time. And to not make it wierd, I think I'll just pick up as if I never stopped.

I finished both Persona 4 and Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories. P4 was great, as expected, and CoM might actually be my favorite Kingdom hearts game. I thought the whole card battleing thing was much more fun than the actual KH gameplay. After I finised CoM, I had an urge to finish up the story, so I replayed through KH2. This sort of put me in replay mode, so I decided to go back and replay FF12, mainly to see if the story is as crappy as I thought it was when I first played it. I'll get back to you on that.

I'm totally hooked on this Battlestar Galactica show. So that's what I'm watching at the moment.

More to come.

What do you do when you have nothing to say? Why, you write something anyway!

I have been way to busy lately watching TV shows on DVD and movies and such to get around to playing any games. I realized I was doing this and even loaned my PS2 to my sister so that she could play Persona 4. I recently discovered a hidden source of DVD's: The Public Library! They have A LOT of stuff here that i didn't even know that they had. I've been checking out: The Larry Sanders show, Extras, A Woman Under the Influence(john cassevettes), Weeds, and what i just got today, The Henry Rollins show. And i haven't even cracked the surface of the stuff they got!

Otherwise; I got a job, working nights at another grocery store here in town. It doesn't look to be that bad of a position, outside of the fact that it's at night. But whatever. I needed the money really badly. Well, i guess that's about it. Man, I failed at capitalizing a lot of my 'I's in this post.

Also: I didn't deliberatly write the title of this post so that it would rhyme. Don't get the wrong impression.

The holidays really f**k my s**t up; Part 2 in a series

Geez... What with not owning internet myself, my parents not having internet, and the KU campus being shut down until the 15th, this has been the first time I've been able to get online in a long while. Well, back to the grindstone.

Christmas was great fun. Had some good food, opened some nice presents, and tryed to relax as much as possible. More specifically on the video game front, I recieved Persona 4(I said I was gonna get it), Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, and Bully. Persona 4 has been filling most of my time. I also recieved a good helping of DVD's; Buffy the Vampire Slayer seasons one and two, Generation Kill, Tom Goes to the Mayor complete series, Deadwood complete series, Firefly, Christmas on Mars, and Wall-e. So needless to say, entertainment wise, I've been busy. I also recieved a toaster oven, which I really wanted, and a new hat and some gloves. Pretty good haul I think.

If that wasn't good enough, I've also finally got another job. This is probably the best news, as money was starting to become pretty tight. Maybe 2009 is my year? I SURE THINK IT IS!!!!!

Radiata Stories+how I spend my time

I finished Radiata Stories for the first time, but as some may know, the game has two different storylines and multiple endings or whatever. So I have to play through it yet again. I get to use a new game plus data, so I hope I'll be able to just blaze through the game in no time at all. I don't know what I'm going to play next, but I know that I want to move on.

I've been doing a pretty large amount of writing, which has caused me to not put as many posts up here as in the past. It's a pretty big undertaking, something that I've wanted to put down in actual writing in some way for quite a while now. I like to create really large, Lord of the Rings type fantasy worlds, and this is what I think to be the best one I've ever come up with. I haven't actually started writing any 'stories' per se, but I have been writing out all of the specifics of the world, and a brief synopsis of what I think to be my 'main' story for the world. So far I've written out about 35 pages of stuff, and I thnk I still have a little ways to go.

Not much else going on. I haven't started buying gifts yet. I still have plenty of time, right?

If I wanted to lick a hippie I'ld just return Joan Baez's phone calls.

30 Rock, definitely my favorite comedy on TV right now. Sure, The Office had a really good episode last night too, but 30 Rock just makes me laugh more.

I'm totally in the holiday spirit. Last night, me and my roommate made gingerbread cookies, drank some eggnog, and watched the 1938 version of A Christmas Carol. For the last week, we've watched a Christmas movie each night, and plan to continue this until Christmas. We've got a cake with Santa's face on it, and one of those giant tins with the different flavored popcorn in it. The apartment(which we also plan to watch tonight) is decked with garland and lights, and I've already mentioned the fiber-optic tree. It snowed here four days ago and it looks to probably do it again on Monday. Ahhh... Tis the season indeed.

I'm on a roll!!!

I finished Dragon Quest 8!! That's two games off of my list now finished! I have to say, I'm pretty happy with myself right now. I never thought I'd actually be able to stick with it and finish even one game on that list. I am abandoning the list for now to try and play and finish a game that i never even really started: Radiata Stories. At first I was playing Devil May Cry, but I really don't think that I like that game. Maybe it was a mistake to purchase that DMC tree pack.... Whatever. Onward and Upward!!!

So, I lost my job a while back, and the job search hasn't been going so well. At least until now. I only now got called back from two of the places I had applied at. One was Radioshack, but I think they thought I was applying for a store position in Topeka, 30 minutes away, which I wasn't. So probably a no go on that. And the second was, yet again, Dillon's Grocery, the business I was fired from. Now, I had previously applied at another Dillon's, and had lied about my getting fired. They had found out, and consequently didn't hire me. The third one I applied at, I told them I had gotten fired. They knew this, and still called for an interview. Third times the charm, right? Let's hope so.

All of this unemployment stuff has left me in a pretty bad position though. I don't have the money to pay my rent, and the landlord is a-calling for it. I don't get too stressed out about stuff,(life is too short for that kind of thing, ya know?) but this is kind of getting to me. It wouldn't be as bad if my landlord was a giant ass about it. Instead, she's comforting and understanding. At least she was the first time it happened. I don't know what to do. I sent an email saying that I could pay it with a credit card, which is the only thing I can think to do, as I have no other way to pay it. If she can do that, then problem solved. Otherwise, I don't know...Hopefully one of these jobs pulls through. I need to get back to the times when I had money.... Ahhh those were the days.

Hope I didn't kill anyone's buzz with my depressing sh*t.

I take too long to finish games; Best Show recaps discontinued

So, I've been trying to finish up Dragon Quest 8, and I'm pretty close to the end of game(at least I think I am). So i'm playing, and there are other characters in the game that are mentioned, but I have no idea who the people in the game are talking about. I then realize that I've been playing this game on and off since 2006. I barely even remember what happened at the very beginning of the game! So I start thinking that maybe I should start the game over. But the idea of playing the game over again made me sick, especially since I really wanted to mark this off of my list of unfinished games. Ugghhhh.... Whatever.

The lack of television and internet is really starting to make their absences obvious. There are only about 3 or 4 shows that i watch on TV that i actually CARE to watch. Everything else, I can do without. But i never realised how much I watch those other shows. Like how I switch on the TV whenever I make myself something to eat. Or just sitting around waiting for my roommate to get out of class. And now that it's not there, it's really noticable. Oh well, maybe this will inspire me to do something actually productive.

Also, due to the lack of internet, my Best Show recaps are no more, mainly becasue i have no real way of listening to the shows. I know, I know. You're dissapointed. Frankly, I'm dissapointed too. But we'll all get by in the end.

Also, also; there's a chance I might start going to school again in the spring. I've applied at the Native American College that's here in Lawrence, and, since I'm a member of a Native American tribe, I will be able to go there for free! More information will be provided as it becomes available.
