It's really doesn't, but if you want to believe fans make a difference more power to you.

The players believe it as well.  And they're the ones playing the damn game, so I'll go with that.

I think the Heat will take the regular season very seriously this year again just because they've got to realize that without homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs, they don't repeat last season.

LOL at the people who think homecourt provides no such advantage.

I never really care who the Heat face during their championship pursuit...If you're hoping for the easiest road you'll just get a fatal wake up call in either the ECF or NBA finals.

I'm not one for predictions, but I think the east will probably go something like this:

1. Heat

2. Bulls (Regular season warriors)

3. Pacers

4. Nets

5. Knicks

6. Hawks

7. Cavs

8. Wizards / Detroit

So that puts the Heat against the Knicks  or Nets second round if things go as I see now.

(I sound like a Laker apologist...).No_Hablo_Ingles

Yeah you do.  Injuries definitely played a role you're right.  The team wasn't really all that young and the minutes weren't managed very well.  Who's to say the Boston Nets won't face that problem as well.

I think the Nets will be the 2nd seed in the East next year. Players compliment each other very well.No_Hablo_Ingles

The Lakers looked like that on paper as well.

Bulls can't even beat the Heat in summer league.

PSP107

I only saw the 1st qtr, but most likely The Heat got some favorable calls and were floping.

Yeah just like in the Finals right?

"In all of NBA playoff history, not just the Finals, no team has ever attempted fewer free throws in a seven-game series than Miamis 118 against San Antonio. That sounds like a finesse team, and who ever thought Pat Riley, he of the bare-knuckle Knicks and the Alonzo Mourning Heat, would get behind something like that?"

[QUOTE="Jagged3dge"]

Miller will truely be missed.  But yeah he was overpaid for a guy that probably only had 9-12 really good games for the Heat over the span of 3 years.  He showed up when it mattered most of the time but we still have multible great shooters; Ray Allen, Battier, JJ.  Even guys like Chalmers and Cole do their part to spread the floor.  Maybe we'll see Rashard Lewis get more PT.

I think Riley has something up his sleeve though.

PSP107

I thought you wanted him to stay?

I liked him on this team, but I could understand the decision.

The battle for NY will be good this year.  At this point, a playoff series between them will be great tv.

yokofox33

Is it possible for both teams to blow the series?

I wish.  You been watching the Heat SL? I think the Heat may be looking to sign Ennis and Clark.
