Months have gone by where I couldn't have cared less about the games on offer. Now we're fast approaching the season when ALL the games you wanted ALL come out... at the same damn time! Will I actually play them all now? Most likely not. I'll probably dabble in several, get bored, and then stick to playing only one or two and then never return to the other games. Gears of War 3 (in particular horde 2.0) is looking to be my main game. Preceded only by Deus Ex THR. And thank you to those who asked how the cyclone went. It went woooosh woooosh, fractured the roof, knocked down 90% of my trees and left me without power for 2 weeks. Also, promotion at work to manager, total annual salary now, 62k.

As it's now 2011 it's time to put two very important years into the deathmatch ring. 2009 and 2010 will face off against each other. Who will win, who will lose and what madness can we expect? 2009 saw me playing Left 4 Dead (yes it was released in '08) For 2010 I got my zombie fix with Left 4 Dead 2... (yes I know 09 release but I played it in '10) Which L4D game wins the deathmatch? Onto super hero films. In 2009 we were dazzled by... While in 2010 we were splitting our sides over Now which super hero movie would win the deathmatch? Onto celebrities, Mickey R looked semi human in 09... would you agree? While 2010 Mickey R looked like something out of a horror movie! O_O Next, and most importantly we examine pie charts and their popularity in 2009 You'll notice in 2010 we see some very disturbing changes to pie charts, reflecting a world gone mad. Truly a shame, the bieber has infected so many. Oh well, rejoice with 2009's Queen of OT. Vs 2010s Queen of OT! *smiles* But on a personal note. I shall compare my 09 TV to my '10 TV. Behold, my 2009 TV! And since it was only 720p and plasma and omg the power bills! Behold me 2010 TV :D It's LED/LCD and 1080p woo For Australians we saw this man in 2009 But in 2010 he was curiously replaced by... A ginger ninja :3 But somethings stay the same. 2009 :D 2010 :D ^there wasnt much of a difference between those two. Unlike some things in this blog :3 *smiles* But some things do change, if only slightly. And of course I am comparing to There are also things that will never change here on GS. People dont always get my sarcasm, or realise I am being sarcastic. I think there sarcazzy detecies are brokkies :( 2009 broken detector 2010 broken detector And finally to wrap it all up... a kitty girl! Woo, go the tail! (doesnt have a lazor though) :3 So how did your 2009 stack up to your 2010? For me, 2009 was an awesome 4/5 stars year. 2010 sorta dragged its butt over the line at around a 2.5/10 stars.

It's an invasion!

So this is from GS forums AU. And someone joined and asked about having some games with other Australians :) Then this other "character" came along and started carrying on with racist anti-american remarks and he said he could say what he want as he has freedom of speech. Other Australian members told him, Australia doesnt have freedom of speech, that's America.

Awwww ^.^ he's cursing and doing it in BOLD text, it's so adorable. I don't know why everyone hates racists, they have to be the most fun. You could just giggle at them all day long as they ranted and carried on like a clown.

April Fools.

One of my least favorite days of the year. It's lost all it's meaning and purpose and turned into a giant excuse for really silly behavior and comments. If it's a special day that doesn't have a hallmark card, I don't much fancy it.

So far its been nothing but massive misinformation and alot of "Person X died"

I remember when April Fools had meaning, like in 8th Grade when the teacher said we all had a maths test, then said it was an April Fools and she gave us all chocolate. Now that's an April Fools!

The Jaguar Journal Four

Personal Updates!

-It's Autumn now according to the calendar, but not the Earth's position -anyways during autumn I get the sneezles alot.

-I left my old job at the video store and now work at EB Games :D They're expensive and overpriced but hey the job is alot easier :D

-The neighbor (Michael) and I are now dating :P We've made out and cuddled a bit -spent some together at each others house for dinner, lunch and stuff.

- I'm looking forward this week to HAWX (saw Top Gun yesterday) and Empire Total War.

Now for some random thoughts I've had on varying topics.

Battlestar Galactica

I remember this was on television many years ago and I just couldn't get "into" it, alot of problems with the actors, script etc. But as I was bored recently I found it on DVD and gave it a go, I actually enjoyed First Season and went onto Second Season, which was good but got a little silly. I think "downloaded" is my most hated episode, I hate that character so much, everytime she has a scene or she's doing is acting like she's on the verge of orgasm while deliving her lines and manipulating Gaius Baltar. -.- She annoys me.

But Sharon Valeri is a really cool character and Lee Adama is fairly solid -although very stereotyped.

So I am enjoying this series, though I don't have anything beyond season two so I'll have to go buy or rent the rest.

AOL = Bebo

So AOL just dropped their profiles COMPLETELY, and ported them over to Bebo. I can't say I'm all that impressed, the support for code and html is minimal and the profiles didn't port very well. Also (and this is the thing) if I wanted a frakkin Bebo profile, I'd have made a frakkin Bebo profile.

Not alot to report on or rant about, I'm pretty sure the link on easy-share still works and has my recorded intro.

The Jaguar Journal 3

First of all updates from last week.

-The rain stopped for most of this week but today and yesterday it began again but not as heavy.

-It's not as humid.

-I've met the neighbors next door

-I still have a big crush on the guy next door. "Michael" mmmm

-I have been sunbaking in the backyard by the pool to gain his attention :P

Ok that's enough of the seld endulgent stuff, I don't wanna talk about myself all the time. This week I'm going to discuss some new games first on the list.

Street Figher IV

It has nice art direction, ok sound/music and I understand it has a huge fanbase.

Well I'm just terrible at it, like really terrible. As in I play on easiest and lose terrible. Oh but with challenges I play on normal and do better, I really like the Crimson Viper character too. I've stopped playing for the moment because it's too frustrating and its a game I think I'll return to when I want a challenge.

Empire Total War Demo

Wow long load times but it sure is fun, the graphics are really good, sound is mostly good, gameplay is fun. I am really enjoying the naval battles they are arcade with a hint of realism to keep them fun. It can be a little WOAH to micro alot of ships but it's very rewarding. My history ****s are paying off with this :D I'm "crossing the T" in battles and doing a very good job at blowing up French boats, although I noticed they are really crap and my boats are really cool.

Land warfare is also cool and the little troops look adorable marching around in columns with their little drummers, only to be blown away by a cannon ball :P Cavalry isn't the same now, no more shock and awe, they work better as a mop up unit. Cover works well, as does ballistic trajectory and all that blah blah.

The RTS side of the game is quite nice but I am really looking forward to launch because I looooooove turn based strategy games! I can sit back in my chair with nibbles and not worry about how long I take to decide to raise a tax or take a province.

Dawn of War II

I'm really enjoying this game, some have complained about the lack of base building but I dont mind, Im focussing more on my deployment and tactics than micro'ing farming units and where to build.

MP/Skirmish is very fun and looks to be a good e-sport, I'm having a blast playing as Space Marines.

SP the game feels alot like a point and click adventure like diablo, only with 4 squads not 1 person. You get armor pick ups, stats, etc and it's got my attention and I am having a good time saving the galaxy :P

Firstly on this journal some personal info, updates.

-It's STILL raining

-It's STILL hot

-I still have the hots for the newguy next door

-I'm going a little crazy as I can't really go outside due to rain, or all the mud that's been created from this weather.

-I'll go see the new neighbors soon.

Moving onto something with more substance now. The Zulu War.

I saw a really interesting documentary today about the Zulu war, it focussed exclusively on the massive defeat the British suffered not the celebrated battle from the film with Michael Cane And alot of new information presented itself -as a history student I found alot of this new information amazing.

Ok, so the British lines being thin and over-extended, no interest really. The British firearms jamming and making a puff of smoke, no interest really. A solar eclipse during the battle? ooh neat. And here is the part I found fascinating! The Zulu warriors were issued with drugs by their witchdoctors.

We see now that the Zulu army is perhaps the first military to issue it's fighters stimulants. It turns out some of the Zulu warriors were given some snuff which was cannabis, but this cannabis was High in TBC or TBD? stimulant but had virtually no CHC/CHD? what relaxes you and slows you down As a result Zulu soldiers who took this were incredibly focussed and boosted with an adrenaline rush.

Select soldiers also used a red mushroom drug which the program did not tell you exactly anyways this red mushroom drug causes the user to see red and makes them extremely aggressive -although lowering response time. And it was given to warriors who intended to get into the melee and essentially go berserk and take 5 British soldiers before they themselves were killed.

The program conducted an experiment with 2 Judo combatants who were of equal skill. They had a quick match without stimulants and they were both very similar in their approach.

They then gave one man a placebo and the other man the red mushroom drug and asked they fight again. The man who took the red mushroom stimulant was CRAZY! His eyes were glazed over and he had this intent stare in his face and he just threw himself at the other guy and didn't hold anything back.

I personally found it amazing to discover the Zulu's used such remedies for their warriors. I thought the earliest cases of drug trials were pilots with speed, or soldiers and a bit of scotch, whiskey.

Anywho I want to visit Africa this was brought on by recently playing Far Cry 2 as it looks to be a beautiful continent, although the internal problems put me off a little bit
