I don't believe it yet, looks like complete lies. I'll wait until videos or screens...

uncharted looks amazing, but there's so much more going on in crysis so I don't think the ps3 can take it, but I would love for a developer to prove me wrong.

It stands for Red Green Blue. It's a color model used to display colors on different types of displays. (plasma,LCD,CRT)

I went to wikipedia and got this:

"The RGB color model is an additive color model in which red, green, and blue light are added together in various ways to reproduce a broad array of colors. The name of the model comes from the initials of the three additive primary colors, red, green, and blue."

Now as far as I know pretty much all TVs and computer monitors use this color model.

CMYK is another color model used in color printing.

What does this have to do with the visual quality of PS3 games?

I found this:

"If [Full] is set when using a TV that supports RGB full range (only over HDMI), the picture quality of the game or video may be improved, increasing the colour spectrum from 16 to 235, to 0 to 255. Not all HDTV's will support this, however, but if your television does then blacks will look blacker than ever and see some details which may have been missing before."

Go to the link and look at the end of the first post there. There is a way to test if your TV supports full RGB, and also explains in a little further detail what this setting means.

Hope that helped.

your TV is a 720p native display (1366 x 768 to be exact like a lot of 720p LCD TVs are). What would happen is that the TV will downscale the 1080i signal to 720p...or does the ps3 do that?... either way the image will be downscaled to the native resolution. setting the ps3's display to 1080i will also downscale the image to the TVs native resolution, which is 720p.

Because your TV is 720p native you should usually set things to that resolution so you get the least amount of infomation lost durring conversion.

So what I think would happen if you set your ps3's display to 1080i when playing 720p content is the ps3 will recieve the 720p content and upconvert it to 1080i and then the TV will get that 1080i signal and convert it to it's native resolution which is 720p! All that converting would degrade the image quality.

Many games output in 720p so I suggest setting your ps3's display settings to that resolution to avoid getting any lag from the conversion process.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

buy component because it's cheaper and you wouldn't notice the difference in 720pGANGSTA287

I noticed a nice difference when swapping from component to HDMI. I really only wanted an HDMI cable for DVD upscaling, and I was not expecting the image to look better (a little better). So I say listen to these guys and buy a cheap cable online they work great.

Okay, you definetely don't need to have played MGS3 since that's set before MGS1 and MGS2 and the character involved isn't the same snake that's in MGS4 (solid snake). I haven't played MGS3, and I played MGS1 so long ago that I basically forgot everything about that game. I just recently played and beat MGS2, which rocked my face off. At the beginning of the game, they pretty much fill you in on everything you need to have known from MGS1 (also I think there was this place in the menu where you could read fake newspaper articles about what happened in MGS1).

Really, if you want to 'save time' and money and are just trying to get a grip on the story before you play MGS4, purchase MGS2 and play it. That should get you up to speed enough on the story and characters that whatever MGS4 throws at you will be relatively understandable.

UT game are not "mindless" killing.... shows that some of you have never actually played a UT game for any length of time.

...then again if you're playing against new UT players it IS "mindless" because everyone is just running around randomly shooting people they see.
