Rofl you are strongly mistaken, I'm Australian. However you are correct in that Changhong is a very asian company. I picked it up from Dick Smith though.

When you buy your premium 360 console you will get a component cable with it. There is a switch on the cable. Make sure it is set to "HD" and plug in the blue, red and green jacks into the component input on your tv. You will also have to use the red and white for sound leaving only the yellow plug unused.

You don't choose 720p, 1080i etc on the tv. The tv resolution changes through the high-def input. In this case, your 360. First time the 360 is on HD it defaults to 480p so you'll want to change it. Turn on the 360 and go to the "system" blade. Select "Display" then "HDTV Settings" and choose the resolution you want. You don't have to do anything to your tv. The resolution will increase automatically.

If your tv has an info button then you should be able to see the resolution it's showing.

If you look through the things your tv brought there should be a booklet that reads "Manual". Its purpose is to help you learn what you can do with your tv. Just kidding, tell us a little more about your tv, so we can help you some more.

So basically what you guys are saying is that I need to find out what kind of resolution my TV can support, and as long as I have the HD cables plugged in instead of the standard AV cables, my 360 should do the rest?

"The high-definition support for Xbox 360 is dynamic, so even if a game is designed with 720p in mind, but your TV only supports 480p, 1080i and 1080p. Xbox 360 runs the game in the best resolution your TV offers (up to 720p, 1080i and 180p)." - The Official Xbox Website

Ohkay, I have no idea what the hell that means lol. I'm getting a 360 within the next few weeks, my tv has a 'HD-Ready' symbol in the corner so I assume it will support HD resolution for my 360. But I have no idea how that works, I've been through all the options and menu's on my TV and can't seem to find anything about resolution settings or 1080i or 720p. Perhaps I'm just technically illiterate when it comes to this sort of thing, but can anyone please shed some light onto how this thing works? Or perhaps explain what I have to do in order to play games in HD?

Thanks alot guys, sorry if this sound amazingly stupid.

I am curious to know, once you have your Xbox 360 connected to Xbox Live, is it possible to play original Xbox games like Halo 2 online? Or are they two separate servers or whatnot?

Yes actually, I had a great time playing King Kong.

I had it for the Xbox, and it looked great, seemed a little silly to port it to the 360 though.
