[QUOTE="JayPee89"]GTA IV is the only contender. Wishful Thinking FTL.thrones

Just a point, IGN gave Call of Duty 4 GoTY yet that wasn't the highest scoring game last year.

Also, same here on gamespot. Call of Duty 4 got SoTY and XB360GoTY and PS3GoTY despite other games scoring higher.

Yeah, but CoD4 wasn't going up against a 10.

[QUOTE="JayPee89"]Because it's a PS3 exclusive, and cows hype all PS3 exclusives.thrones

No different then lemmings hyping every 360 exlcusive, although I use the term exclusive on 360 lightly because most the games also appear on PC.

Lemmings don't hype every exclusive, just the ones worth hyping. No one was screaming from the mountaintops about Hour of Victory or Vampire Rain. Cows hype anything.

Haze and Lair both had top tier developers, Lemmings hype most games with top tier developers as well :|

Top tier developers don't put out games that bad, so they obviously aren't top tier developers. Top tier developers are Rockstar, Valve, Blizzard, Nintendo, Epic, etc. Those guys are just developers you've heard of.

There's Lego Indiana Jones!thrones
Yeah, but that teh kiddie. The real game was using the Euphoria engine and DMM. Even though I'm not a huge Indy fan, I was looking forward to this particular game. IGN has the release date as TBA 2009 so maybe it will eventually come out.

[QUOTE="Blackbond"]Well coming from a guy who doesn't like MGS and wanted to give MGS4 a try this isn't exactly making me excited. I want to play games I don't want to sit around watching them. Couldn't they have taken some hints from Valve on ways to tell story? I mean cutscenes are okay and all but this seems ridiculous. Wish it had cutscenes like RE4 where you can interact with at least. Or does it have them?Blackbond

Well, don't assume it's going to suck. This 90 minute cutscene thing still has the possibility of being very good. As long as they do it correctly, it really shouldn't be a problem.

And we don't have to worry about anyone calling MGS4 a casual game

Never said it was going to suck. Its just that I'm not a MGS fan and this doesn't do anything to hype me up and just does a lot to turn me off. 90 minute cutscenes are ludirious no matter how good they are. I'm trying to play a game not watch it. Meh I never liked GTA but bought GTA4 so I'll probably do the same with MGS4. But come on 90 minute cutscenes?

That's just ridiculous. That's a whole theater length movie.

And it's not just 1. There are several cutscenes that approach the 90 minute mark.

I thought the game was supposed to be released with the movie, but haven't heard anything new about the game in over a year. Has it been cancelled?

[QUOTE="JayPee89"]One type, yes(family friendly). One genre, no. It's no different than movies. A lot of people just outgrow that type of stuff. I'm not entertained as much at 27 by Disney movies as I was when I was a child, same thing with Nintendo. Doesn't mean they aren't quality products, just not interesting to me. It's cool with the family, but when I need to get my grown man on, I look elsewhere.BAgamer

Because you are 27 you are to mature to play Mario even though it was GOTY, Zelda, SSBB, or even Wiisports?

Then there is third party games such has NMH, TofS, Bloom Blox and more.

I hope I am never as mature has you. There too many games out there to limit myself to just a few.

Now you sound like a sheep. Please quote the part where I said I was too mature to play those games. They just don't interest me. If you like the Wii, more power to you. It's just not for me.

"People don't grow to old to play games they grow old because they don't play games" George Bernard Shaw

Well I guess it's a good thing that I have over 200 games to play.
