Over the past month or so my Internet has been acting differently then it ever has. I use firefox as my web browser and all of the sudden it is going much slower then it use to and when I go to play a video file on firefox I get a error message and firefox closes.

I have Road Runner cable Internet and I have never had problems like this before. Also I do not know if this is related (I believe it is) in counter strike now my ping is somewhat higher and I am having trouble connecting to a lot of servers.

Thanks for any help with this matter.

well if you put the DDR Ram into your Sony then that RAM is faulty, because you could not have put in DDR2 by accident as it wouldn't physically fit (different number of pins). The Speed of the Ram will not affect it as it will run at the slowest speed.yoyo462001

So what you are saying is the RAM is broken. The computer that I got the ram out of is about 5 years old so I do not know if RAM has changed maybe in that time. Also that same computer was in my basement when it flooded a year ago and about half a inch of watcher got into the tower. The only thing the water touched was the motherboard. Could that have ruined the RAM? If that is not the problem is there any way I can fix or reformat the RAM to work with my Sony Viao?

Are you sure everything is the same memory standard? Are they rated to run at different speeds?aveman1

I was told that my Sony Viao computer only could run with DDR and the ram out of the HP is that. I do not know what you mean by rated to run at different speeds. I just got into computers and there inner workings so I do not know much yet.

I own a Sony Viao computer that came with 1GB of ram. Just recently I wanted to upgrade it with another 1GB of ram. I bought 512MB of DDR ram from the store and that works fine in my computer even now. But instead of wasting more money I had a old HP computer that had 512MB of ram in it so I took that out and tried to use it in my Viao computer and it does not work.

Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the ram that it will not work in my computer or maybe something I am doing wrong? Any help I get will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
