More violence doesn't really solve anything. At the end of the day they're just trolls. But they don't deserve death.

That all depends on who you ask.

Many who live deserve death. Some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Than do not be eager to deal out death in judgment.

Kind of like Walmart. I don't think I've ever seen a white person working at the one ten minutes away from my house.

Attention walmart shoppers.

Interesting. Also, IIRC, that same black guy was up for popery last round.

coolbeans90

I think it's a different black Cardinal. In 2005 Cardinal Arinze was considered to be a papabile. I think the African Cardinal people are talking about now is Peter Turkson.

he didn't last very long.. though iirc people in the know did indicate that's why he was elected in the first place.. comp_atkins
His papacy is in it's 8th year, that is longer than the average papal reign.

[QUOTE="-Renegade"]

isn't the next pope suppose to be the anti christ?

wis3boi

Yes, the prophecy says this next pope will be the last, and be named Peter.  The biggest candidate is a man from Ghana named Peter.

Well yes and no. The "Prophecy of Popes" has the last Pope as being Peter the Roman (Petrus Romanus) on the list, though I think there is some debate over the prophecy (among other things whether Petrus Romanus is just the last pope revealed in the prophecy or whether he indeed is the pope during whose reign the world will end).

As for the next pope being the anti-Christ that is not part of the prophecy.

Rumors are that an african could be elected Pope.  That would be interesting.   There has never been a black pope.  Also, my friend says there is a canadian who could possibly get it.

worlock77

There have been a few Africans before, from North Africa in the early years of Church history.

African =/= black. Especially when we're talking about north Africa.

True, at least to a degree anyway.

FIRST PLEASE BE CIVIL! Then again this is Off-topic...

As a Catholic I would rather have Liam Neeson as the next Pope! Ra's Al Gul takes over the church! But seriously, I would prefer someone young and more liberal like John Paul II

NY Times? Let's skip the secondary source and go directly to the primary source.

Dear Brothers,

I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry.  I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in todays world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the barque of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is.

Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects.  And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff. With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer.

From the Vatican, 10 February 2013

BENEDICTUS PP XVI

Nah, just broken.

coolbeans90

What is a horrible person in your definition? Also, how can I be fixed?

Someone not plagued with clearly substantial psych/emotional problems acting similarly would be p. bad.

I don't know if you can be fixed, TBH.

Everyone can be fixed, to some degree, but not to perfect condition.
