Hey everybody!
The Nintendo press conference wrapped up a few short hours ago, signifying the end of the conferences and announcements, so I thought that I might as well write my awards. I hope you enjoy. :)
The Second Annual JF E3 Awards
So, this year's E3 was one of the best in recent history with two new hardware announcements, and plenty of new games.
So let me start the awards by handing out the big cheese:
Best of Show
Battlefield 3

A game that really wowed me at the EA press conference. It truly has the potential to be one of the best FPSs of all time.
2. Mass Effect 3 – Another game that looks great, but I did not see enough new and ground breaking features over ME2 to make this my Best of Show.
3. Batman Arkham City – Pretty much the same case with ME3. I really want this, but nothing new was shown to make an impact. Playing as Catwoman looks cool, but I was under the impression that Rocksteady was going to reveal another big feature at E3, only to find out that Catwoman was supposed to be the surprise even though details were released several days ago.
Best Surprise
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time

Yes! It's a dream come true! I said, last year, that it was a disappointment that there was no Sly 4 coming out, but apparently Sony read my blog and decided to oblige! I can't wait to see some game play on Sly 4.
2. Far Cry 3 – It looks like Ubisoft is getting smart and deciding to return to Far Cry's roots. I just hope they dash the whole weapon deterioration and malaria medicine mechanics from Far Cry 2. This would have been number 1 had rumors not leaked about it on different sites.
3. Halo 4 – This definitely would have been number 1 had Microsoft not confirmed it a day before the press conference!
Best New Hardware
Wii u

I have to say that I was pretty impressed with the Wii u. The promise of more intuitive game design and HD graphics on a Nintendo console sounds promising. Will we one day be able to play fun Super Mario games on the same console that we play our hardcore FPS? Only time will tell.
2. Playstation Vita – This was a close one for me. I definitely want to get my hands on a portable gaming device will HD graphics that rival the PS3. The new Uncharted game for the Vita also makes me want this more.
Best IP
Overstrike

Coming from a company known for its over-the-top action and crazy arsenal, this title sounds promising.
2. Rage – Another post-apocalyptic FPS? I'll take it!
Best Co-op
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier

Executing timed kills and taking down an entire squad of bad guys in a second with friends. Who doesn't think that sounds awesome?
2. Uncharted 3 – While we haven't seen much of it, Uncharted 3's co-op seeks to combine the adventure and excitement of the campaign with the fun of playing with friends.
Best Sequel
Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception

After seeing the demo of the next chapter in Naughty Dog's epic series, I have no doubt that this will be the best Uncharted yet!
2. Batman Arkham City – Definitely my most anticipated game of the year, Arkham City looks like it will deliver even more action, stealth, and Batman lore than its predecessor.
3. Assassin's Creed Revelations – I am really invested in this series, and I am eager to see how Ezio's final chapter unfolds. However, from the demo, I have not seen any really new attention grabbing features besides the updated graphics.
Best Press Conference
EA

Overall, I really enjoyed EA's lineup of games with my two favorites being Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3.
2. Sony – I always enjoy Sony's conferences, and the only real reason Sony isn't #1 is because the lineup was not super strong this year, and I felt they spent a little too much time on 3D.
3. Nintendo – I also enjoyed the Nintendo conference this year with the unveiling of the Wii u, and some promising 3DS titles that make me want to buy a 3DS.
Biggest Disappointment
Ubisoft Press Conference

Don't get me wrong, Ubisoft had some great games including Ghost Recon, Assassin's Creed, and Driver San Francisco, but I could not stand Aaron Priceman (a.k.a. Mr. Caffeine). He was a total @$$hole and even made a couple of penis jokes on stage. He almost made the show unwatchable with his bad jokes and stupid sound effects. It made me wish for the guy that hosted last year.
