The online is a giant dump in the mouth I agree but hopefully there will be ways to get it cheap.

ActicEdge

Would you two prefer free online over drm, no lending games, and online requirement?

I mean it could've been all the above at $500. :P

I don't see why everyone has low standards. Why can't I have "both"? Is wanting 2 things that I have been accustomed too for like 13 years wrong? Or is everyone just passive as shit now?

Maybe it has to do with people not being able to afford one or the other?

They said it best in their own conference. The Xbox is about to become the next water cooler. *cricketcricketcricket* Really you dumb hooker? That's what you want your video game system to be? A water cooler?!

You guys are ridiculous. To everyone crying and groaning... grow up! They showed 2 hours of the system!! And most the time was spent talking about the technology in it and what they hope to achieve. Last I checked... Sony makes the system and it's up to the developers to make the game. So crying about Sony making a system geared towards Social media is stupid. They gave us the RAM we asked for... 8GBs of DDR5! They gave us an easier system to create games for! Something we all complained about. Now Sony is talking about social interactions and the trolls are out in full force crying! This was only an introduction!!!!!! Everyone needs to chill!!!!!!! Dude is complaining about the "instant gratification" but you're complaint is hypocritical. It was the first showing and you are complaining about the system already.

[QUOTE="GhoX"]Here I am back on the Gamespot forum again, and that's only because SWTOR is down for a 2 hour maintenance. That pretty much sums up my opinion on SWTOR. On a side note I'm level 42 and almost have 2 mil credits. :D

WTF?!?! That is all sir.

If you're trying to decide whether to pass up TOR in favor of waiting for a 2012 MMORPG, I'd recommend waiting for either GW2 or TERA. Both are looking leagues better than TOR which is just a WoW clone (except it has voice acting and a story!!1). And when I say WoW clone, I mean it is literally a Star Wars mod for WoW:

So if you really liked WoW and want the same experience you had in WoW...resubscribe to WoW. If you want something new, wait for GW2 or TERA.

gameguy6700

you're an idiot. If you actually did some research on the game or played it yourself you would realize how stupid you just made yourself look.

But I HAVE played it myself. I'm sorry that you think your super special MMO is different, but in reality it's probably the least original MMO to have come out in recent memory. Even worse, Bioware blew $300 million making it.

Rift say's hello.

[QUOTE="Joncon88"]But you say settling when they may not see it that way. Im not arguing your point of more customization. I just think because they didn't add it makes them lazy... It is there product and they are the designers. airshocker

People don't normally see things from another persons perspective when that person is criticizing them. That doesn't make the criticism any less valid.

Like I said, I get why you are disappointed, but to call them lazy is a stretch to me.

[QUOTE="Joncon88"]I think you saying laziness may be a stretch. I mean more money went into this game than any other. As well years and years of development. I think they wanted to keep some distinctions between classes and this was one way they did it. airshocker

Then it's even more shameful that customization and uniquity lost out to some developers idea of distinction. Settling for things being okay is laziness. The game would have been better if they took a page from SWG.

But you say settling when they may not see it that way. Im not arguing your point of more customization. I just think because they didn't add it makes them lazy... It is there product and they are the designers.

I think many of these complaints would be legit if not in the form of an MMO. The limitations to some of the customization you desire give meaning and reasoning to rolling a specific class. Which I feel is needed. As far as playable wookies, I completely agree in the sense that they need a more diverse race system besides.. "The purple human, the red human, the blind human, the human human", but I do not know if Wookie is a valid option. Since the game is boasting it's voice over's so much, a forever wookie whelp would be highly irritating after a few minutes.

Reason 4 and 5 are legit though, 3 months of any game can cause burn-out, and MMO's do take time for progression.

trijity

Heard these excuses before. SWG had everything I just listed. It's far from impossible to implement anything I suggested.

A class has "meaning" by nature of the class, not the way a player chooses to customize. So I think the lack of customization is due to sheer laziness on the part of Bioware, which is a shame.

Last time I noticed, SWG never boasted the voice overs SWTOR is. Also...last time I noticed...SWG aint doin too hot. (i.e. it dead)

I think you saying laziness may be a stretch. I mean more money went into this game than any other. As well years and years of development. I think they wanted to keep some distinctions between classes and this was one way they did it.
